What's Gallop's style? Fast leading hit up or strong under the high ball?
I have only seen a couple of highlight reels and some of the VFL final he played for us this season.

Very aggressive hard at it player who loves to crash packs and compete physically, can take a good mark, also looks to have the desire to contribute defensively but as he acknowledges needs to work on his endurance which reportedly has improved.

The antithesis of Josh Schache... Tom Hawkins type IMO, albeit on very limited viewing.

Edit- Have a look in the roster watch thread at a 1 minute grab from the VFL Prelim, gives you a nice glimpse of Ty.

This may sound somewhat silly, but the fact Geelong bid on Ty reasonably early at 42 more than justifies and ads more credibility that Ty is a good selection and great get by us.

Oh could not agree more, I posted much the same when the rumour came out that the Cats could bid on Ty... Cats have a great record of getting late draft bargains, luckily we had the ability to thwart their plan.

Rookie draft our 2 guys have a long wait with picks 18,36.
Some clubs may choose not to have a pick.
.............................

They include Adelaide’s Chris Burgess and Harry Schoenberg, Brisbane’s Darragh Joyce, Collingwood’s Oleg Markov and Ash Johnson, GWS’ Josh Fahey and Jacob Wehr, Hawthorn’s JackGunston, North Melbourne’s Toby Pink, St Kilda’s Brad Crouch and Sydney’s Aaron Francis and Joel Hamling.

Meanwhile Brisbane is poised to land ex-Sun Sam Day via the pre-season draft to help fill the key forward void left by Joe Daniher.

I feel like we have been missing a big crash pack physical forward. Sounds like a great option to contrast Hipwood and Morris in the future.

I like that we have a few different styles of forward option on the list now from the taller ruck/forwards in Fort/Smith, Hipwood as more of the lead up flanker, Morris/Lloyd smaller but smart 3rd talls and now Gallop.

Will be interesting to see how they go this year and then over the medium to longer term in who can really develop to partner Hipwood

Only seen that one set shot at goal in the video but his kicking style looks poor. Leans so far back on it. Hopefully the club gets to work on that ASAP.

Crash packs. Aggressive tackles. Strong mark. Built like a brick shit house.

One kick does not an example make.

His kicking at QAFL level was fine and accurate.

That shot was after the siren, on the 50-meter line and in the wet.
The ball most likely just got the side of his boot while trying to get the distance.

He took a strong mark and kicked a goal around the 6.30-minute mark.
As others have said you can't judge his kinking for goal on that one vid.

Personally, i thought his action was fine but that was a very small sample size.
Looking forward to seeing how he goes with an AFL preseason under his belt and most likely a better diet

So just doing the overall of where we started and where we finished in this talent exchange period.

After free agency compensation we came into the trade period with pick 20, 60 and 73 we added in our future 2nd - pick 36 (after we go back-to-back) which is then pushed back by all the academy and f/s picks next year and lost Harry Sharp. We come out with Levi, Marshall, Gallop, Day, Ftr 3rd from Ess, WC, GC, WB and future 4th from Saints.

So a late first, late second, late third, late fourth and a fringe player (who would be starved of opportunity with us) for 2 First round midfielders, a KPF to develop, 3 better third round picks and a better fourth round pick.

That is some expert level pick juggling there.

Star to silence ‘doubters’; All-Aus with last pick!? AFL draft sliders, bolters and hidden gems

Pick 42. Ty Gallop
-Ranked outside top 100 on Fox Sports lab
Kevin Sheehan says: “Congratulations to Maroochydore Football Club ... they're contributing to the pathway quite brilliantly. This boy of 194cm, great one-on-one player, developing nicely and might be another local product from Queensland that will have a great future in AFL footy.”
Mick Ablett says: “He certainly (the definition of a bolter).I thought were was a massive overreaction last year to the AFL club academies, particularly the northern states, when we saw them dominate the early stages of the draft. Until it gets to the point of that happening year after year after year, I think we need to realise the importance of the growth in the game in those markets. Geelong was obviously invested and willing enough to [bid on] Gallop and see him as a genuine AFL footballer, that speaks volumes for the growth of the game.”

We will likely match any offers for Starcevich which will help us trade for Allen

I think they let Allen walk and we match, so they keep a Band One compensation pick and then trade their future first or something like it for Starce.

Another top five pick is more than we can offer in a trade that includes Starcevich.

Yeah, if we’re getting Allen and West Coast aren’t matching, Buckley’s chance we’re trading Starcevich for anything close to a first round pick.

Maybe a future second round pick.

lsewhere, Twomey reported last week that delisted Lion Jaxon Prior and axed Port Adelaide forward Quinton Narkle are both set for another chance at AFL level despite not nominating for the drafts this week.

Prior has had interest from Essendon and looks set to train with the Bombers over summer and sign in the pre-season supplementary selection period, while Narkle is poised to do the same at Fremantle. The pair did not nominate for the draft after being delisted, removing the risk of a rival club jumping in first to draft them.

Jack Gunston number 1 pick

Sam Day official

Sorry blueiris

Darragh Joyce officially back at the Den.

Darcy Craven also back at the Den as expected

So, 44 players on our list; 36 primary listers and 8 rookies including 2 x Cat B.

Ideally all 44 players would be available, but surely the first intra should be the 22 premiership players (obviously Joe was the 23rd) v the 22 premiership hopefuls.

The Premiership Hopefuls 22 could look like this:

BR.TORRENTD.GARDINERT.DOEDEE
HBL.BEECKEND.JOYCEK.COLEMAN
CB.REVILLEL.ASHCROFTS.BRAIN
HFL.LYOYDS.DAYW.MACLACHLAN
FL.McCARTHYH.SMITHT.GALLOP
RO.McINERNEYD.ROBERTSONJ.TUNSTILL
INTS.MARSHALLB.RYANZ.ZAKOSTELSKYD.CRAVEN
