Better than at Etihad. Plus we'll have a point to prove against Dimma so I hope we'll come out hard. Dees have typically come out firing early after a high intensity pre-season as opposed to us who have typically taken 6 weeks to get moving. Hopefully Yze brings the early intensity with him.

I'd take Etihad in March round 1 vs Metricon in March round 1 anyday.

It's going to be humid, soap bar footy at that time and I doubt we'll cope well.

Plus ex-Coaches typically do well against former sides, Dimma will know our players' strengths and weaknesses better than Yze does, even if the gameplan does change.

suns will be using the Richmond dynasty gameplan which works best in sloppy wet conditions.....

we will be turnover city with our poor footskills . the gold campaigners could set an afl record for most goals off turnover in this game

Let me just say the afl are ****ing useless and whoever designs the fixture is a gimp.

Its so easy to do a proper double up fixture, you just pick the 6 double ups in the first 6 weeks and repeat in the last 6. None of this play the same team twice before you play some other team in rd 21.

The rest of the fixture just writes itself and you only have to pencil in a handul of games like anzac day, and mothers day.

Travel can be a bitch if you get reamed by scheduling so two games in SA would be the best. The WA teams arent very good but it can still mean giving the old players a week off, so I hope to avoid it.

If the AFL have half a clue they'll double us up against the bummers, pies and blues to get the big crowds. But they are clueless so im expecting an underwhelming draw.

Definitely they'll give us 2x suns (probably rd 2) to milk the Dimma story for all its worth.

So that gives us

2x suns
2x shit team (north are shite but they do tend to beat us, so maybe dawks?)

2x bummers
2x fairly shit team (crows?)

So as it stands we'll play Gold Coast away to start the season on March 9th, then Carlton away in round 2 with Gather round to follow 3 weeks later on April 4th-7th. The way it looks we may have a bye on the weekend of April 20-22 so that we can play the ANZAC Eve game on April 24th which is a Wednesday night next year.

Based on that it's possible we could play up to 4 games as the away team in the first 2 months of the season which would mean a better run of home games to end the season.

They will make us play our home games at marvel

Each side plays each other once to qualify for the final 8.(17 rnds).
Bottom 8 too bad your season ends early.
Top 8 then play each other.
7 weeks so top 4 sides get 4 home finals
End of week 7.Top 2 sides play in the GF.

It will never be even, it still opens it up to manipulation as in who gets to play who home or away.

No concept will ever allow the comp to be even until its total home and away which means 34 games as it stands.

The last even fixture was 1986.

Manipulation how so?
Interstate games you alternate each year.
2024-We play west coast in perth
2025-We play at the G.

Better than what we have now.

Flags are won every year not every two, so every year someone will get a dream draw based on who they play home and away under your criteria.

Every year 9 teams will get 9 home games, already uneven for that year.

17 games is only fair if every team plays in the same state.

That round should be everyones twice game and should come from your group of 6, as it is 13th could de dealt a harder draw than 4th due to the manipulation of the fixture.

We finished 13th and will be given a 2-2-2 split, the same as at least one or both of the losing semi finalists from this year.

17 games is just too short though and makes for a long arse off season.
