North Melbourne at Marvel maybe? But the AFL like to have us play a game in Tassie at least every 2 years. Who knows who we'll play in Gather Round in Adelaide but I put the Bulldogs here.

Suns & Bombers? Not likely

Suns will get a bottom 6 fixture.

That’s 3 double ups against teams almost guaranteed to finish below them.

Their one double up against a top 6 team will be us. Remember what they did to us at Metricon this year.

They’ve got Dimma and some new assistant coaches coming in.

They have a lot of young talent, much of it about to enter their prime years.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see them have a GWS like back end of next season. Might not make finals, but I expect everything to finally click for them.

At first I was a bit annoyed at having to play at Mt Barker... but now I think about it I really think we should try to make a real go out of playing out in the sticks or at Norwood.

Think about it... it guarantees that we won't have to play Adelaide or Port which assures us of not playing a 12th "away" game.

It will also reduce any crowd against us, especially considering that most Victorian clubs will have better support than us in South Australia even at a "neutral" venue.

I wonder if we would even need to request the Collingwood Easter Thursday game tho, given we had a number of sell outs involving traditionally poorer drawing teams like Adelaide and St Kilda. If we only get 3 fixture requests it might make sense to use this on something else instead, like 3 games at the MCG for example.

There was an article a few years back saying that we were only guaranteed Collingwood on Easter Thursday for a couple of years and then another high drawing Melbourne team.
So there is a chance that we play Collingwood at the G in round 1 or 2, they do generally like to play a Grand Final re-match quite early in the year.
And then we play Geelong or Melbourne on Easter Thursday maybe?

we have got double ups against melbourne in the last two seasons and the league seems to like that match up. can see it happening again

hope one of the double up against a top 6 team we get is port personally.... can see them falling away

Seeing this thread reminded how much of a good opportunity 2023 was:

No ballarat game
No cattery game
No tassie game v hawks or north

Sadly we managed to throw away a big part of thus advantage by losing to hawks at mcg and dogs at docklands- guess top 2 is all we need anyway

We need to really buy in to the giants mindset of embracing all the different venues because we have been awful at the off-broadway games for years and in other years it’s cost us ladder positons

On the plus side - surely we beat hawthorn finally in 2024!

This is why as a club we should seriously request a stupid number (like 8) of games in Melbourne. We won't get 8 but we might get 7, and even if we only get 6 like this year, it reduces the likelihood of playing twice in Perth.

We're the only club in the competition that has never played West Coast at Optus Stadium. The last time we played the Eagles in Perth was at Subiaco way back in 2017.
