Had a couple of tips come my way. Denmark and Sharp N Smart.
Big odds, any small chance?

Block their number. They have NFI

Sharp n Smart has done absolutely nothing since his 3yo season to suggest he would be up to this. Eight straight losses in NZ is not going to be a form line to follow ever and he is weighted awfully because he won a couple decent 3yo races

Denmark was just an average Euro 3yo and is getting beat up in BM78s at the moment. Hard to imagine a world where he even gets close to getting a run in the race

I love this from Aiden. This man is desperate to win a Melbourne Cup and is taking it seriously by potentially sending a top horse to try and do it. Running in the right distances and the right level. Loved the way it responded and stuck its neck out when challenged two runs back. Nicely weighted at 54kg. Northern Hemi Stallion, tick. Can settle on the first half of the field.

Only queries, has it passed the vet scans etc yet? The biggest field it has run in has had 10 horses and it will have to break the Galileo curse 😀 Well done to those who got the early odds about it. I will have to look at trying to multi it up with something when it gets of the plane in Aus. Pretty interesting who the jockey will be, Ryan Moore or has he committed to Vauban again??

Buick has been booked for Vauban.

Surprising that Aidan’s planning to send Jan Brueghel, being a Group 1 winner who doesn’t appear to be well in with 54kgs. He’d be in the conversation as the best credentialed horse Aidan has sent to the race and may not yet be fully exposed yet.

It’s worth noting that Deauville Legend, another NH 3yo, carried 55kgs and finished 4th on an unsuitable soft 7 track. As a St Leger winner, Jan Brueghel appears to be a better horse, and he has a higher official rating than Deauville Legend had when he came out here. And Jan Brueghel handles soft going.

JB definitely will be slotting in towards the top end and will likely be single figures on the day but I wouldn't be diving in thinking he is the best 3yo chance we have had. He is a one paced grinder which typically isn't ideal for Australian racing and he is not all that well in with 54kg

It has great tactical speed as shown in the St Leger

If it doesn’t draw the carpark could gap them at the clock tower

Nah it's a grinder that needs to be revved up from a long way out and will out stay them. It's not that hard to sit midfield in a field of 7 when they are going half paced.

Pretty wishful thinking. No denying he could win but he is a bulldog who will fight them off not something with a turn of foot that will gap them.

If I can get Cross Counter odds on the day I'll likely be with him then but if he gets into DL prices I'll be letting him go around

Would need a staying test for his staying abilities to shine.
