I am going into this game with no expectation after all of the bullshit ways Carlton have beaten us over the last few years.

Well, we are being judged on the Adelaide game being a poor display of skills - without people realising it was a humid game (see amiss wiping the ball down( and we came off back to back 6 day breaks.

Coming off 8 days should have us well rested for this one

The midfield match up is what I'm keen on watching.

I don't think Carlton mids spread well (besides Cerra) but theyre good in the contest. They won't bully us this time round.

if our midfield help out defence ie Brayshaw, Serong, LJ & Sharp, we should be in this up to our eyeballs

The hatred of Carlton by Freo supporters is an interesting thing, many of their supporters are bemused/surprised by said hatred - as a club we really don't rate in their collective realm of Carltank Consciousness. Personally, I haven't had too many negative experiences with Carlton supporters (even at Optus/Subi home games) - there can be no comparison with Blues supporters to Richmond, Collingwood and St Kilda flogs who've nearly driven my pacifism to its absolute brink upon occasion over the years.

In our dominant era of 2012-2015 we dispatched them regularly, even during our dreadful rebuilding phase up until 2019 we beat them often. It was that last gasp victory in 2019 that they never should've won that started it, and then in 2020 the same circumstances at Optus but with massive Umpiring support. Outside of that 35pt win in 2022 they've bullied and smacked us around regularly.

The other evidence would point to them stealing Cerra and Acres off us, and the drafting-w***ery with Liam Henry back in the day.

Is there anything else I've missed?

I have only had bad encounters with Richmond and Carlton supporters. When we have been to games at the MCG versus Collingwood, their supporters have been great.

When Freo was in the GF, the pub we met at in Carlton (for BF), was full of Collingwood supporters backing us.

Richmond supporters are feral and Carlton supporters are smug.

I think we can win this one. I think our defense is the key....if they can keep their blokes to minimal impact, we should have enough fire power up front to score more than they do. Sounds simple enough....
Our mids I think are on form too.
A not slow start would also be quite handy.

There was a free kick awarded down field after a late bump by Fremantle player on the Carlton player kicking the ball in from a deliberate out of bounds. Fremantle are my team, but looks like lack of discipline caused the loss not Umpires

Yes but what cost us the match was the Free kick to knock player down. if that did not occur the rest all those umpires errors dont matter. my philosphy in life and especially football is focus on what we can control. and we cant control other people . especially cant control umpires.

As i taught all my football teams i coached over the years. When the players make less mistakes than the umpires then we can complain.
