This award is so dumb. Cripps going to shatter the record by an absolute country mile.

Has his year being that spectacular? 12th in the comp for possessions, 15th Supercoach, 30+ for that Dreamtime ranking system.

Best season ever? Ridiculous. Daicos is so much better it is not even close. Damaging AF with the ball, kicks more goals and actually gets tagged every week unlike Cripps.

Cripps is polling max votes every time he pulls the guernsey on.

There are always dodgy games that stand out every Brownlow but this one takes the cake. Got 2 votes against the Dogs in a loss with 19 possessions no goals. Bont tore that game apart, 32 possies 2 goals, no votes in a win ffs.

Another one he got 23 possessions, zero goals. Walsh kicked 3 and had 39 touches. Just unreal.

Have you seen the stupid decisions the umpires make every week? It would be more surprising if they suddenly knew what they were doing when deciding on the votes.

What game are you talking about? The Blues only played the Dogs once this year. In that game Cripps had 28 and 2 goals, while Bont had 20 and 1.

To be fair he got 8 coaches votes against us along with Sinclair and Walsh, so it was a bit of a raffle but it's not like he didn't deserve it.

The umpires are so heavily influenced by players public profiles. Every year we see more and more votes concentrated among the top 20 high profile players. It’s become a joke.

The umpires are so heavily influenced by players public profiles. Every year we see more and more votes concentrated among the top 20 high profile players. It’s become a joke.

I have no doubt that having more umpires in the room giving the votes leaves them more susceptible to groupthink. Instead of assessing the game accurately, they end up just voting for someone that none of them disagree with too much - which is always someone high profile.

Cripps a deserving winner but he didn't deserve to win a Brownlow by that much, even in Carlton's loss to us he still got 3 votes.

Saw it on Pies thread somewhere, might have mixed it up. Context must have been out of whack, and Bonts was a separate game. There are a few games being thrown around where he polled 2 votes for 20 possession. Below is an example of one.

This is the dumbest result in Brownlow history. 45 votes ffs. He polled 3 in every good game and 2 in games he was just okay.

I don't reckon Cripps ever gets a hard tag. He is just not that damaging. 30 possessions from Cripps is not something you really lose sleep over.

30 possessions from Bont and it is likely game over.

How Carlton haven't won a flag with their list is comical. How do you have a spine of Cripps, Curnow, Weitering, Mckay, Walsh, De Koning. All in their prime at the same time.
