Yeah I picked up on chips comment too. Really interesting that he mentioned a classy outside midfielder along side key fwd and key back as our main targets this off season.

Baz is pure class, has performed in big games, gets bums on seats and like Ginni adores the hawks.

Is pay a 1st for him all day.

We've been bottom 6 for years now and none of DGB, Ward, Mackenzie or Watson (tough to include him, but point still stands) have shown anywhere near what Smith did in the first 12-36 months of his AFL career.

Pick 1-2 is a different story though. I don't see us finishing low enough for that though.

Even before his ACL he wasn't worth pick 4 especially when he doesn't fill our priority needs. Late first at most or better yet, let Bulldogs keep him and we try get him for nothing but salary when he gets to FA.

The problem is if we have been talking to him for 12 months as you say then and he picks us we can’t say no we aren’t offering our first pick.
