Would imagine basically like thisDoes anyone understand how pick purchasing might work? Would clubs purchase picks out of their cap allowance? If so, why would another club agree to sell given they (presumably) can't just roll the cash they get into their own cap (or can they?). If they rolled it into internal revenue then wouldn't the AFL just cut the allowance the club receives the following year on the basis that they had received a windfall for the sold pick?
And how does it work for clubs like us, the Tiges, Pies and Eagles, given we receive minimum money for the AFL? I guess we would be bidding for picks against clubs using money they got from the AFL that we didn't?! If the Roos out bid us for a pick using the extra money they get from the AFL I'd be pretty p*ssed off!
Anyone actually know how these schemes work?
Surely we blow them out of the water with coin.True. All parts. I was more confident, but not sure, 10 days ago. I believe his management is using us. We need a commitment.
It’s good that you listened to the Pod with McCartney but now the hard part for you is you have to stop making declarations of where the list is at for talent based on the win/loss columns and wait and actually see what the year
Ahhh...so we take on a part of their cap. Yes, that makes sense. Thanks.Would imagine basically like this
Dees have pick 22 and are tight on the cap .
We offer $600k of cap relief for the pick . They accept and thats the trade .
Obviously thats basic and it could be more complex but would be the premise .
Would allow a club like us with huge cap space to bolster our draft hand and accelerate a rebuild .
We'd essentially be selling them cap space/relief is my understanding - not actual money.Ahhh...so we take on a part of their cap. Yes, that makes sense. Thanks.
Hahaha we offer a mil at 7 years and they offer 500k at 4 years + a land package on the beach for the rest of his life.Money, money, money!!

you got no clue. He's going at 84% this year. Stop being bitter just because Sleepy couldn't land our targets.
Dogs delisting baz would be 6D chess. Don't know if they could do that since he might have another year on his contract.let's say the Doggies finish quite low and for some reason we finish higher than them.
If they happen to delist Baz and we sign him, they'd get a pick after theirs as compensation or do delisted free agents not attract compensation picks?

Restricted free agent at the end of the year pretty sureIs Jarrod Berry as a FA someone we should look at can’t remember how he plays is he the same as what we have.
Good player at his best but yeah as you mentioned we have very similar. Is Jarrod Berry as a FA someone we should look at can’t remember how he plays is he the same as what we have.
Frost has been kicking at 90% efficiency this year with disposal efficiency of 95% compared to 70% kicking and 77% disposal eff last year.
He's a useless footballer getting by on height and athleticism. I never wanted him at Hawthorn.
You realise this is exactly why we wanted him here right?
Frost is going at 95% by foot this year.you got no clue. He's going at 84% this year. Stop being bitter just because Sleepy couldn't land our targets.
And if he continues to go at 95%, then he would a fantastic contributor to our team. don't get your point. If you just go by the past and not take the potential into account, you're judging players wrong. anyway, we couldn't land him, but that doesn't change the fact that he's a good player.Frost is going at 95% by foot this year.
Esava is a bang average player. And if he continues to go at 95%, then he would a fantastic contributor to our team. don't get your point. Humphries was high on our list. Shame we couldn't get Flanders done.Gws and GC have a lot of talent of their list that are not playing seniors.
Max Gruzewski, Leek Aleer, Isaac Cumming, Joel Jeffrey and Jy Farrar.
We need to target some of these kids with long term contracts and more money. Try to get these players for late picks or in the preseason draft.
Flanders for personal reasons wanted to stay with GC.Humphries was high on our list. Shame we couldn't get Flanders done.
