IMO ...I have more trade-down / trade-up options with a $450K player .....who most definitely will increase in value ...and is less likely to be managed, than Fyfe
If Yeo gets a score of zero you have 450k not scoring. If Fyfe does others have 280k not scoring. Both have downgrade options. Yeo is far more risky.
We are probably arguing the difference between a shit and a turd but there you are.

I've seen a few folks say I can risk Yeo because I have 40 trades.
The problem with that line of thinking is everyone does. Your still one behind those that didn't take the obvious risk.
The ROI on trades goes substantially down later in the season

you give me 10 extra trades last year and very little changes, was full Premo out of the byes and flipping premos uselessly in the last 5 rounds wouldn't have mattered

the only way it matters is if 5-10 Supercoach relevant players go down for 2+ weeks in the back 8 rounds

I'm tempted by Fyfe also because he's a forward. The chances of him going 90+ while fit are high. When to get off will be the question hopefully he lasts long enough to identify who our forward premos will be. If he plays until DPP changes it's a great move provided you move him before the inevitable injury game.
Yeo has a harder task as a defender. You do get the benefit of possibly upgrading him which seems unlikely with Fyfe. But you also have Williams in defence. Chances of the sc gods injuring both in the same round are high. Replacing both on one week would be a nightmare.

Neither will last post byes lol.
Getting out while the goings good will be the way to manage it. Say it's round 7 and fyfes 420k move him to a sp who going to last.

Thats the way I see it, if it hits the fan you can Kiddy or Himmelberg if either fire or any mid pricer out of the blocks.

absolutely, neither are long-term projects

that's more in response to "The problem with that line of thinking is everyone does". I think the argument for starting these high risk players (Yeo, LDU, Fyfe etc...) with 40 trades is really strong

Yeo is easy to flip if he plays until 550k in the first 6 weeks before going down, especially with players coming off early byes (like naicos)

Difference between Fyfe and Yeo is one is a cash cow, the other isn’t. Yeo won’t make much money, if any at all. 6-8 weeks of Fyfe at 280k might get you a fair way with some luck.
No difference when they both play 1 or 2 games before getting injured-rested-managed

Fyfe is not averaging 90 or scoring a bunch of tons this yr, he simply can't spread and score anymore outside stoppages apart from clunking a couple of marks. That said with the new ruck rules shrek will be dropping it in his lap at stoppages and he can still tackle strongly. I think 75+ is realistic but spike games will be unlikely it will be more of a 6-8 week grind before upgrading.

Should also factor him in as a player with an early bye because even though he doesn't have one he'll prob get a rest. If not he's a big risk to be subbed off in a few games.

Getting subbed off on 40 every few weeks will kill any cash gen.

Another Hawks defender down. Maybe that new fella gets a game?

Reckon he has to be a walk up start now. Nobody else left. Steering clear of Sicily until we get more of an idea what role he is going to be playing.

Blues gun Sam Walsh on modified program after reporting back soreness.
The most overpicked player in SuperCoach has another niggling back injury. Are 31% of SuperCoach owners going to hold?

Wasn't picking him, but with the byes + injuries to numerous premos, we're all going into Round 1 with basically the same squad at this point lol.
