There are 40 senior list spots. If those guys are players 37-40, not a chance in hell I’m complaining
I hope that’s not our attitude and why would we lock in players ranked 37-40 for multi years?

Our 37-40th players getting regular playersI hope that’s not our attitude
I’d have Cooper just so he can work with our social media team.As I have said it’s the draft for me. We need an injection of top end junior talent
BUT we also need to add some quality depth that won’t cost much. Names I’d look at
Nick Haynes - 32. FA (mature defender)
Garcia - 23. Cheap trade (zippy midfielder who can find it)
Caleb Daniel - 28. Cheap trade (small defender with good ball use)
Cooper Hamilton - 20. cheap trade (young elite running wingman/hb from GWS)
Hang on, you want to get a 32 year old....and how long will he help us....?Austin needs to be very active this off season but his hands could be tied salary cap wise. I'm no list manager but surely JMart, Cunners and Marchbank should be delisted. Trade Pitto, get Nick Haynesto support Weiters, and trade one of Kennedy or Hewett for talented young burst mids struggling for games in top 8 sides (I don't know who).PLAYERCARDSTART19Nick Haynes

He's far & away our most valuable trade chip.
I don't believe he'll be moved on but a significant return would go some way to addressing the holes in the side.
Maybe next year. Can't go into a year with TDK HOK and Mirkov as our our ruck options. Pitto is valuable even if he's a lazy french croissantAdd Pittonet to the trade out column and I'm in.
I’m saying that’s worst case scenario. At their best, they are much higher than that. Young got a multi year deal after being one of our best players during a patch where Weiters was injured. The Pitto signing looked incredible when he came in mid year and looked like Dean Cox early in the year. Cottrell was one of our most important players during our run at the end of last year, and Durds is a more long term project, due to his injuries this year. But clearly Voss likes himI hope that’s not our attitude and why would we lock in players ranked 37-40 for multi years?
I'd keep GeorgeAdd Pittonet to the trade out column and I'm in.
Nah **** it, let’s trade Pitto while he still has currency.Maybe next year. Can't go into a year with TDK HOK and Mirkov as our our ruck options. Pitto is valuable even if he's a lazy french croissant
I would be dropping Pitto for Mirkov this week. Another preseason into HOK/Mirk and they will go past Pitto.Maybe next year. Can't go into a year with TDK HOK and Mirkov as our our ruck options. Pitto is valuable even if he's a lazy french croissant
We need to trade one of Cerra/Hewett/Kennedy. Honestly I don't care who it is at this stage.

Maybe so but they are entirely untested atm. Pitto might be annoying the hell out of us but we atleast know he can hold down the fort when needed. Even if it's as ugly as all sin while he's doing so.I would be dropping Pitto for Mirkov this week. Another preseason into HOK/Mirk and they will go past Pitto.
Yep. Whichever will provide the most value and open the door for someone else in that mix. I want to see Cowan and Kemp training on ball this off season. We need to trade one of Cerra/Hewett/Kennedy. Honestly I don't care who it is at this stage.
I guess my perspective is that while they are untested, at least they haven't failed the test of being an AFL footballer miserably the way that Pittonet has. Maybe they'll be good? As long as we hold onto Pitto, we will never find out.Maybe so but they are entirely untested atm. You trade him for two firsts this year and use one to get a B+ ruckman from another club. You don't spend $1m on a ruck.
It does hold the club in the position to trade the players vs OOC.I would love Austin & Lloyd to explain why we gave Pittonet Young Cottrell Durdin multi year contract extensions long before their seasons were up
These type of deals for fringe players can really restrict list decisions and improvements
We can very easily improve our list without trading Harry. The issue is our peripheral players don't compliment our big guns whatsoever. Replace the slow plodder types with players with more speed and skill and we're better off, even if they're similar in quality.WE don't even need a B+ ruckman. Take the 2 firsts and run, then find whichever ruck is on the discount rack this year and buy cheaply.
We desperately need some young talent after gutting our draft hand for the last 5 drafts trading to find thr 'missing piece'.
If there's a way we get to two first rounders in ahead on Ben Camporeale this year, and two first rounders next year, while only giving up a 25 year old ruck who has one good season so far under his belt... i think we have no choice but to take it.
The only other path i see to genuine improvement is to trade one of the two big forwards for ideally a pick or two, some depth and a younger replacement. Essendon have too many talls by far and might give up depth to add big Harry... Melbourne also desperate.
It would hurt to lose Harry but I genuinely can't see how else we improve our list enough to escape the 6th-10th quagmire we are in now...

We get those skills at the draft and via free agency and trade. I genuinely believe the club hadn't identified it as a weakness up until this season and thought Cunners, Martin, Williams etc would be enough this season if they could stay fit and healthy. How do we add players with speed and skill? That's the exact combination everyone wants right now and Hawthorn's little run (and demolition of us) is going to make everyone double down on that.
So how do we add that when we have maybe one pick in the top 10, need all the rest for F/S picks (who aren't those traits)...
Slow-ish and clunky by foot (but smart and versatile) has been going cheap the last few years... that's how we got Hollands, Acres, even Hewett all nice and cheap.
