Possibly Perryman, Cumming, Graham and Battle compo to all come before our second pick, possibly Battle before our first. I hate the system.

Also surely GC won’t be chasing our pick ~35 this season. They will have the points for Lombard easy. We will need to find a future second to go with our future first to have any chance of getting pick 12

With a balanced approach to trade and drafting we are addressing the now and the future, which is smart.

With greater fitness and less injuries (surely this will happen next year), throwing the magnets around to hopefully better utilise our player's capabilities, development of existing youth on the list and some tweaking of the gameplan, we will put ourselves back in contention.

Our elite core should well and truly be sick of the team being not consistently up to the mark. Hopefully they can have the rest of the squad feeling the same way and primed for success.

With the depth of this draft, we'll get more value for Owies/Kennedy if we are seeking a future pick so may work for us

Considering teams perceived reluctance to exit this draft, can see us nabbing a F2 for owies or MK, so it's highly likely this might happen

GC will reportedly pay 6 for Rioli (incredibly), then they need to bring in Noble. Probably pick 26 (though you never know with GC). That'll leave them with 12 and 20. If they swap 12 for our F1 plus 31 that'll give them 31 and 20 for Lombard plus an F1 next year. Bid will come around 8-12. Could see them having some use for it, though they have later picks too.

Whatever happens I doubt we use pick 31 (maybe pick 35 after compo). Too close to when a Ben Campo bid might come. I think we either trade it up or out.

With the system changing next year they’ll be trying to get higher picks (future first and seconds) for next year and match Lombard with those later picks in the third round that still gold value this year. They can move on all of 6,12,20 and 26 and probably only need another pick in the mid 40’s to match Lombard. They’ll get that as steak knives in other deals no problem

I'd like to see Cowan on a wing
Very bullish on this young man.

Has a very bright future ahead of him. Could develop into anything.

Hopefully we can hold onto him when Tassie come in. Tassie will come knocking.

Williams, O Hollands, McGovern and Kemp all say otherwise. Just cause he doesn’t make the moves YOU want, doesn’t mean he doesn’t make moves

How many forced by injury as opposed to improving or looking outside the square?

As I said earlier it seems to be modern coaching. Build a structure and stick to it. Would Fagan had played the players and moved some if not for injuries this year?

Needs to come out of his shell a little, find the right balance between defending and attacking

Perhaps we might see that with Haynes coming in

Pick 11 - Joe Berry
Pick 12 (F1+31) - Tobie Travaglia/Taj Hotton/Xavier Lindsay
Match bid - Ben Camporeale
Match bids - Lucas Camporeale
Rookie - Tom McCartin

Nick Haynes - UFA
Sam Switkowksi - Owies + Carroll picks
Braeden Campbell - Kennedy pick
Jayden Laverde - DFA

Mitch McGovern - Jacob Weitering - Tobie Travaglia
Adam Saad - Lewis Young - Nic Newman
Braeden Campbell - Patrick Cripps - Blake Acres
Lachie Fogarty - Charlie Curnow - Sam Switkowski
Joe Berry
- Harry Mckay - Ashton Moir
Tom DeKoning - Sam Walsh - Adam Cerra

I/C from... Sam Docherty - George Hewett - Elijah Hollands - Lachie Cowan - Billy Wilson - Zac Williams - Brodie Kemp etc - Ollie Hollands etc...

Still would love to see Cowan go into the midfield where he can utilize his athleticism and penetration to be a POD from our rather sluggish on ball brigade.

I have been hoping we might have a crack at Braeden Campbell but haven't heard anything. He's what we need
Travaglia I saw for our reserves and was very impressive. Good skills and a calm head off HB
Berry I would love. He is definitely what we need

I still believe our biggest improvement will come from within. We just need to stay fit

Walsh Cerra Acres Saad Fogarty Motlop Docherty Silvagni Durdin had years ruined by injury and are much better than they showed
I have high hopes that Kemp Moir Lord Binns Ollie Elijah Wilson Cowan Cincotta to really improve in 2025

Cripps & Weitering just need to maintain their standards from 2024

TDK is a genuine star, as is Charlie. They were done at end of year when it mattered

I also hope that McKay learns to play a role like Joe Daniher does. He would massively influence games this way. O'Keefe could play this as well

Lemmey is the wildcard. Has ability but flaky. 200cm KPP that if he can step up can really make a difference. 3rd year so it's time to start showing something.

This is BEFORE we add anyone

How would people feel if we end with

Pick 11
Pick 12
Ben Campo
Lucas Campo

Haynes
A very good mature player
Handy mature player
Handy mature role player

McCartin as rookie or late pick
Then trial a few for SSP over summer
Is that the varied description for Haynes, or 4 inbound players, incl Haynes (unfort think he’s well past it at AFL level).

Really depends on who they are and what points of difference they offer..I.e. wasn’t happy with Fanta last off-season and wouldn’t want someone similar.

Would really like to reduce the # of players from other clubs and produce our own from drafting.

Statistically he and Weitering are the same player. Their stats are virtually identical. Yet we lord one as some kind of god and the other one garbage.
Statically Kiwi fruit has the same vitamin c level as Pineapple - they are two very different things thou
