The same things being said about Dow, were said about Stocker and Setterfiekd last year, both have gone on to be solid players at their new home, however I don’t think we missed either.. had we retained them we prob don’t take Cincotta
Don’t mind the guys leaving but sick of giving them away for nothing in comparison what we gave up for former 1st round picks when rebuilding.
We should be try to swap first with saints for Dow

200 points difference equivalent to a 4th round pick

With Ben McKay going, they have 2 defenders, Corr 194, Logue 193 ( both 3rd talls) to play KPD

If they are interested in Young, it could make the Fisher deal juicier

Agree.

Don’t rate Young at all and we have S Durdin for depth.

I think they missed a trick here.
Adams is 30 & loves an injury, I think Dow really would have complimented there fast, direct transition game

I think they are thinking who can help them win a flag next year hence Adams over Dow. He’s a known commodity who will hit the ground running as opposed to Dow who is a much bigger risk.

Was interesting the way we managed a couple of positions both for the present and future in last year’s off season.

For the wing we recruited Acres who was ready to go and then Hollands and Binns for the future.

Then we did it again at half back getting Cincotta for right now and Cowan to develop for the future.

Could we be looking at a similar strategy for that explosive half forward that looks like our biggest need this year? Get Elijah Hollands who will be ready to go next year and then someone like Tholstrup to develop for a year or so in the reserves.

I’m just spitballing, it’s not necessarily what I think we should do.

Think that is exactly the situation. Fit & firing he’s best proven & available player to fill that need.

If North came knocking and agreed to 19 for Fisher and Young I'd do it. If not he's got talent and provides KPP depth for us on a modest contract. Certainly wouldn't be offloading him unless Norf was offering overs
Think we would do that in a heart beat, we gave Durds an extra yr.
Think Durds was very unlucky he was injured at the worst possible time for him to get a game. If he was fit I think he would have played this year. If he’s good enough to get a game, then Young is surplus to needs & a greater trade commodity.

I think it would be a good deal for North too. They have more draft picks than they can spend so getting in 2 B22 players essentially for free in areas they desperately need to fill would be money well spent imo.
