Where is this?
Be interesting what we’re planning on doing. Personally unless it’s a desperate north move I’d be wary. North could easily improve to fall outside bottom 6.
Twomey mentioned it on gettable but I thought it was a hypothetical comment

It's frankly entirely coaching if Baker and Bolton dont move the needle. We were 15 minutes off in about 5 games from finishing top 4. How much talent do you expect to be added in one off season? You dont need the very best maximised list to be a chance or GWS and Dogs would be in the GF IMO.

If Baker and Bolton - who each have at least 4 years of their best footy left, arent enough to get us contending, it's on JL

If we give away all our first rounders, we’ve essentially excluded ourselves from 3 drafts in a row in terms of top end talent. It would leave a massive hole in our list. For Baker? Spare me. Bolton I’m comfortable giving away pick 9 and 16-18, but not 9 and 10.

Ok, well I think that's fine, I'm not sure about feeling sick about it but I would like to keep a 1st in this draft and think we can do it even with Baker with 9,10 and the Saints pick. If it was all three firsts, I'm sure something very decent would come back like the first pick of round 2

No you may not have mis-heard. I dismissed it because I just thought he was hust throwing stuff around. It may be based on something.
I think for Cal to bring it up that way, it's at least been discussed. Almost definitely doesnt happen though and to be honest, despite the obvious value gain, I hope it doesnt. I'm not moving high picks to next year to satisfy Sydney. If they dont want to trade him this year they suck it up with whatever they get next year. Two firsts (wherever they are) is basically enough to get anyone out of contract, as stupid as that is

I disagree. You haven’t subtracted the score involvements of the players they are replacing. Say Banfield and Walters.

We haven’t replacing JOM / Fyfe who are BOG average on 2024 form and need upgrading. Say we replace one with Erasmus and the other with NOD (assuming we kepp him)

I don’t think Bolton, Baker, NOD, Erasmus for Banfield, Walters, JOM and Fyfe moves the needle enough.

What will actually move the needle is full preseasons for Darcy and Cox. Injury free years for our talls, which is no guarantee.

I don’t see the need to lose 3 firsts for Baker and Bolton. Baker is Reece Conca level and Bolton is a star, but has below average goal accuracy and suboptimal defensive pressure.

Cmon. Fyfe and Walters are extras on the cast of The Walking Dead, Banfield is 80% mother of Pearl, and JOM had about 6 decent games. Not starring…decent.

If Bolton, Baker, NOD and Erasmus can’t improve on that lot, we should just fold.

I agree that three firsts is massive overs.

I don’t mind the idea of that trade with North. Most likely a top 4 pick, we can lob that and a future second in front of Sydney for the Chad

How about this?
9 and 28 for Bolton.
Trade 10 to Norf for a future first.
Trade Norf future first and future second to Sydaney this year for Chad.
Use 15-18 in the draft
Profit?

Or

Bolton and Baker and some salary for 9, 15-18 and 28

Take ten to the draft, take a Berry type and have a full hand of picks next year for Warner, plus future picks

north Melbourne has offered there first round pick to port for Dan houston but port want a pick in this year's draft and freo want a pick in next year's draft to try and make a play on chad warner, so North and freo are looking at doing a pick swap.

Dan Houston ain’t going to North.

So, any dots connected there can be erased.

More like 16 this year and a future 1st but surely they have to at least think about it. Then 9 and F1 for Bolton and something small back? Seems if North are willing do their future 1st for pick 10 then this draft is special anyway.

The more smoke I hear blown up this drafts arse, the more I think maybe, just maybe TheChad is in purple soon..

So happy Noddy repaid the faith. If we re-signed NOD, does that mean Warner isn't happening this year?
