You misread the article. It says Freo have 9 and 10, not that that's what it would cost.

Melbourne can't trade Kozzie this year. They think they are a shot for a flag. He's their best player under 25. They might as well blow it up if he goes.

Yes I'm a Richmond fan, but I'm not under any illusions.

For example, I'm just glad that Graham is leaving (respectfully to him) and I'd give him away for nothing - the fact that we'll get FA compo is laugable.

Bolton could do with some more discipline at times. He gives away silly frees and 50's which are coach killers. In particular I think he struggles mentally playing in a wooden spoon side. He's not a leader, he's the cream on top. Freo has leaders and a strong core - Bolton could really thrive there.

And on his day he's an absolute jet, a game changer. A bloke who can play midfield, break away from packs, go forward to kick 30-40+ goals/year, take mark of the year or kick goal of the year.

With 9+10 slated to slip at least 2 spots, and the current list/finals push for Freo, would you rather take P10 (12?) to the draft and hope you have a good player in 2-5 years?

Picks sliding has zero impact on what players are available. It is of minor relevance. Pick 9 has a crack at the 9th best available player in the draft.

Trade history tells you Bolton is not worth 9+10.

That was before the interest from Geelong. As someone posted we had an interest before it was cool.

Anyway I couldn’t care less and thought it was a bad move. We don’t need to add 30 year old injury prone players to our list. We were likely throwing him a bone as an SSP rookie.

Geelong looking at DFA (ie primary list spot) to keep their quota of double digit 30year old players in tact.

I’ve been called optimistic and that is definitely optimistic. Pick 29 is more realistic but I feel Richmond will go hard for top 30 picks and everything else is on the table. They prob won’t even use some of the later picks so we could get 41 as well for example.

2) I'm just assuming Warner is being worked on hard for next year's trade period, it makes most sense
3) There's always talk in week 1 of trade period. Talk is what it's designed for. If it was really about trading hte whole thing would be over in three hours

I want to like Emmett but he’s just so poor. They may keep him, but I don’t see why.

He missed a handball by 2m yesterday and rarely does anything offensively with polish.

Even the handball he did nail to Simpson he was falling over, lost his balance and flung it out.

His type is a potentially great fit, but anything he provides defensively is countered by his horrendous offensive ability.

The funniest one was against Claremont in the 1st Semi.

The ball was kicked forwards by Peel to a Claremont tall defender but Voss got there late to contest a certain mark and knocked the ball boundary side. Initially the ball looked it was heading out of bounds and Emmett was following up the play, but suddenly the ball just bobbed reverse and Voss put his arms out to shepherd to give Emmett a clear path - so Emmett goes flat out to the boundary, like he only knows one way and you can see him put the extra yards in, and as just as he grabs the ball he trips and falls face first over the boundary line like he's putting in a rugby try.

It's the stuff of cult figures.

The Baker stuff is bizarre. We'll never know the full story but i swear people were convinced Freo was locked several months ago the it's changed to undecided and remained that way since. I've never seen a WA player coming back and not have everyone basically know which team he's going to, even more so this late in the year.

It genuinely seems like it's a WC coach thing where completely speculating, they either need the tick off from the new coach to bring him in (it's a stupid trade IMO), they have him locked in and want the extra media buzz of Baker picking them and onboard with the coach or he genuinely wants to see who it is first.

I personally still think one of Warner or Pickett is a chance to at least request a trade this year so wouldn't be surprised if he's our 2nd choice as well.

Basically I have a whole heap of nothing haha sorry.

I said back at the start of this that the only way they'd even consider trading him is with significant family reasons or a falling out with the coaching. Each carries it's own risk for us.
