AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
I’ve come to the realization that any of us could make predictions and forecasts and we’d be just fine. Every one of these supposed experts/former players talk a good game but when it comes down to what actually transpires, it doesn’t really matter if it’s right or wrong, and it’s a simple “they surprised me” bla bla bla. They get it completely wrong more often than not.Luke Hodge assesses who can and can’t win the 2024 premiership

I don't actually disagree with this, but the only surprising part is they didn't expand on why Collingwood can win it.
Outside of Sydney it follows a simple pattern of yes/no for interstate and explanation for Vic teams except Collingwood.
The pundits are wrong just as often as we are. Don't let it get to you.I’ve come to the realization that any of us could make predictions and forecasts and we’d be just fine. Hodge here just flat out say’s no we can’t win it? On the basis of what, then talks up Melbourne like they just need a few tweaks? He can eff right off!
I remember my old man who was the same age saying years ago, he never saw an 18 year old with skills he had, both sides. Cruelled by injuries, but could of been a GOATSorry to hear about John Todd's passing.
He won the Sandover in his first year, 17yo and was captain-coach age 20. Literally no-one will ever match that.

Yep, all the old timers said if he hadn't done his knee he would have won multiple Sandovers. Great coach as well - built that great Swan Districts team from scratch. I recall Dennis Cometti (coaching at the time) laughing at Todd as he spent two years getting belted with a young team. But Dennis was always cut out for commentary rather than coaching.I remember my old man who was the same age saying years ago, he never saw an 18 year old with skills he had, both sides. RIP Toddy

Well tbf If your getting banished to Siberia you would rather East Siberia.FWIW, Re Curtin, his body language when drafted was noticeably similar to Tanner Bruhn’s when drafted to GWS. They both looked like they were to be banished to Siberia.

Strange take. There’s nothing plastic about GWS. I’m a member and I see a genuine footy club that can win a flag in the next 5 years and is building the game in areas that it isn’t strong.Well tbf If your getting banished to Siberia you would rather East Siberia.
You get to play at the beautiful SCG with a city behind them that is always pumping.
Your close enough to Bondi, Coogee with
beautiful beaches on the east.
Or you get the plastic orange franchise that no one gives a hoot about west of Strathfield in front of 200 people and a dog at whatever ground they call the showground these days.
I saw my first ever gws supporter the other day. The merch is bloody nice.Strange take. There’s nothing plastic about GWS. I’m a member and I see a genuine footy club that can win a flag in the next 5 years and is building the game in areas that it isn’t ststrong.

There’s a lovely grey as well. My wife looks mighty fine in the scarf.if you look good in orange
I look great in purple ha haThere’s a lovely grey as well. My wife looks mighty fine in the scarf.
There still a generation away of building a proper fan base. I didn't like the way the AFL arrogantly went about putting them in. Probably not the clubs fault but I just didn't Demetriou arrogance around the whole situation.Strange take. There’s nothing plastic about GWS. I thought Paddy spoke well here, answered the questions about WA travel issue (business class seats etc)
Sorry, about what?Christian Pettraca on 360 didn't sound convincing...
I guess they can only say so much, but he had no reasonable response to Melbourne's lapse in formSorry, about what?
To be fair here, what could he possibly say?I guess they can only say so much, but he had no reasonable response to Melbourne's lapse in form
