You don't have to wonder why a trans persons mental health goes off the rails when punch the other cheek people like you guys exist.
Everyone blames it on mental health issues. I know personally if I was being stalked and harassed it wouldn’t matter to me at all what the root of their mental health issues are.

It’s disrespectful to victims when people use their abusers situation to justify their abuse.

Ol mate thinks people can't redeem themselves. I pity you.

P.s. Trans rights are human rights.

Team. s_wd6 isn’t arguing against trans rights here.

We can accept Dani’s a female AND condemn her previous actions.

The two aren’t mutually exclusive.

Sure not good at all but wasn't it like one incident?

She's hardly a Daniel Kerr.

Yeah, I actually don’t believe it’s fair for people who have directly abused others to be forgiven and to be platformed publicly like they are heroes.

This has nothing to do with trans people and everything to do with people excusing Laidleys behaviour when they shouldn’t be.

She violated a family violence order over 100 times before the arrest and threatened to run over her victim.

Her getting a redemption story is just further proof that we don’t treat violence against women seriously enough.

Sorry, but to quote someone or other "one sip a summer does not make".

I havent read her book but I remember her football career and am under the understanding that this lady had one week in her life where she broke the law, was spared criminal conviction after pleading guilty, did not apply for bail, underwent the court mandated rehab program and subsequently reconnected with her support network and family.

Correct me if I'm wrong but she didnt physically lay a hand on anyone and her abuse was limited to unwanted texts, phonecalls, photos and flowers, contained within a 7 day period in 2020.

She's in her mid 50's, had an uncharacteristically horrendous week, owned it, paid her dues to society and is now getting back to work in a newspaper that next to no-one reads, with no doubt constant feedback from the anti trans mob.

I'm sorry but the footy industry has harboured many abusers and in the scheme of things her situation hardly warrants comment.

The conversation was around changing her gender identity, not the other aspects of her life. Like it or not choosing gender identity doesn't hurt anyone just offends some. Big difference. I don't support her stalking, I can only hope that it is something she has leant from and has ceased doing.

And her victim is lucky it was caught and taken care of before it escalated. I’m sure she would’ve been happy to know that her abuser was just having an uncharacteristic week when she threatened to kill her.

We agree with you but the convo was about her change in gender identity. Stalkers are a pain in the arse and i think the law is way too lenient because of the horrendous damage it does to people's lives. I just don't see what the big deal is with changing gender identity. It is harmless.
