Still devastated about Duff and Quarters. Was such a relaxing listen. No shouting and carrying on, just two knowledgeable and well-spoken footy heads talking about the industry over a cup of chamomile tea.
Barra name-drops someone every 5 minutes and stirs Quarters up over just about every opinion he has. Agonizing to listen to.

My favourite is probably 2 Guys 1 Cup. They hardly ever talk about Freo or go indepth into the games but at least it's entertaining.

Anyone feel like Duck from Purple Reign and JoJo from Restump would make a good duo for a podcast.

Been doing the rounds listening to a few poddys.

Feel like OZ has limited footy knowledge and Chief of Restump seems like an old drunk.

Personally feel that those two pods plus Dork talk too much smack and not enough footy.

Barich has ruined the one with the WEST.
Some of Chief's jokes... don't land but I think he is important. They have great chemistry.
I've realised just how much the Duffield leaving the Worst has hurt me this week. I actually really wanted to listen/watch some footy media this week and all I really like now is Hard Ball Gets. I dont really enjoy pods that are basically solely Freo focused tbh
Restump is generally really good. I'd take Jojo especially as a footy analyst over most "experts".

Agree on Duff.
For mine, Restump is the perfect Freo podcast. I like the JoJo and Chief dynamic. They can get deep into the root of issues, and still keep it light and breezy. The last two pods with Will Scofield and Bob Murphy were rippers.

Purple Reign has way too many advertising call outs and audio hooks. Kills it for me. I know sponsorship is important, but there is a limit from a listeners perspective, and Purple Reign has tipped past that critical mass of being bearable.
Purple reign is like the audio version of bigfooty. I don't rate their analysis greatly but can get swept away in the excitement when Freo wins. I never listen if we lose for the same reason. That and your 100% right on the sponsorship these days.

Restump I'll listen regardless as its entertaining either way.

Purple Reign was better before they fell victim to the curse of 90% of AFL media

Gargling balls is the only way to keep your swipe card

Logan has had one good game against gold coast and people are losing their head. Naughton is ahead of both.
I agree that Naughton is better on proven talent and output. Probably tracks better as well currently. I just think Logan will become something special.

To me the Draper thing is most interesting. Obviously he's impressing them, people don't agree with me when I say this could spell the end for Hamling but I think it could.

Fremantle footy boss Peter Bell is hopeful dual Brownlow medallist Nat Fyfe will return from a foot issue for their Gather Round clash against Gold Coast at Norwood Oval after a positive few days.

Bell said it had been a frustrating period on the sidelines for the former captain, who hasn’t played since the season-opening loss to St Kilda at Marvel Stadium and didn’t travel with the team to South Australia ahead of Saturday’s clash against Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

Fyfe has been dealing with a plantar fascia issue for a few months with Fremantle trying a range of “medical interventions” to get him back on the park.
“We’re hopeful,” Bell told The West Australian.

“For those people out there who have experienced a plantar fascia issue, they can be really frustrating because on certain days it’s really good and other days it can be quite debilitating.

“There’s a range of different things and medical interventions that we’re trying, we’re pleased with how he’s progressing over the last few days but on any given day, he can wake up and be sore again.

“They’re a frustrating injury to try and get on top of and for people that have had it, they’ve said they can be battling with it for a period of time and then one day they wake up and it’s gone.

“That’s really frustrating for Nat and for us, we wish for our sake and for Nat’s sake that there was more certainty as well but it’s really a day-by-day call.”

Bell is confident speedy forward Michael Frederick will face the Suns after he was ruled out of taking on the Crows because of a nasty eye injury.

Frederick was poked in the eye during the third term of Fremantle’s breakthrough win over West Coast on Sunday but still managed to travel with the team to his home state.

“He’s not a certainly but we’re confident that he’ll be available next week and obviously we had a specialist clearance before he was able to get on the plane,” he said.

“He got a bit of a poke in the eye and the specialist’s advice was it really does need to settle, not just from further contact but also from the ocular pressure so when your heartrate and when you’re running and exerting, that can create pressure on the eye.”

Category-B rookie Josh Draper was a surprise sighting on the flight to on Thursday Adelaide but Bell while it would be a great experience for the first-year tall, he was comfortable with him playing if required.

The athletic forward/ruck turned key defender has impressed many at Fremantle during his first pre-season at the club after graduating from their Next Generation Academy.

“It’s always a difficult decision as to who will be the travelling emergency, particularly when the AFL season doesn’t align with the WAFL season and you want to get football into those guys who aren’t getting an opportunity at AFL level,” Bell said.

“He’s our travelling emergency so we’re absolutely comfortable if he’s needed to play, you don’t get a spot on the plane if you’re not comfortable with that.

It’s a wonderful learning opportunity for Josh as well, to come and experience up to a week with the team.

“Who knows what next week can hold but we think it could fast-track his development and really build his connection with the group.

“We thought it was invaluable to do that and it’s a reflection that he’s going pretty well as a young player as well.

“He’s a great athlete, he’s learned the team-defence principles really strongly and an experience like this will fast-track that process even more.”

Bell was confident spearhead Matt Taberner’s best wasn’t far off after just one goal across the first three rounds for the two-time leading goal-kicker who was subbed out twice.

“We feel like his best is not far away,” Bell said.

“The beauty of Matt Taberner is you know his work rate is going to be high and you know he’s always going to attract a good defender.

“Even though perhaps from an output perspective, he’s not at his very best right now, he’s still drawing a really good defender which is allowing Jye (Amiss) to hit the scoreboard, Luke (Jackson) to get good opportunities or Sean (Darcy).

“We know we can rely on Matt to play his role and play a really team-orientated game.”

Bell conceded Fremantle’s new-look midfield is still a work in progress as they adjust to life after retired games-record holder David Mundy and Fyfe who’s been turned into a permanent forward.

Veteran on-baller Jaeger O’Meara and young tall Luke Jackson, who’s been used in the ruck and as a big-bodied 199cm mid, are a couple of new additions still finding their feet.

“Things always change, that’s the nature of AFL football and Dave is such a great organiser and very calm out there, so that’s why it’s going to take some adjustment,” Bell said.

“Obviously Jaeger coming in is a new addition and Luke as well so that will take some time until they’re performing at their most cohesive best.

“I’m not sure exactly how long that will take but we’re also keen to introduce other players into that midfield mix.

“It’s still a work in progress, if you look at a couple of established sides, you’d say they haven’t really nailed their midfield mix at this stage so we’re hopeful that will improve.

“We’re not sure what that will look like over the coming weeks, or even at the end of the year... we’re still working towards our very best output at that end of the ground.”

Another regular missing from the Dockers’ midfield group is Will Brodie, dropped ahead of last week’s western derby victory and not breaking back into the side for the Crows clash after 26 games in a row to start his time at the club.

Bell said the former Gold Coast Sun had responded his axing well ahead of his debut for WAFL affiliate Peel in Mandurah on Good Friday.

“He took it really well, nobody likes to be dropped and he was disappointed but he understood and the coaching staff have been really clear on the areas of his game that they’d like to see him work on,” he said.

“I’m really confident he’ll be back in the AFL side soon.”

Some of chief’s jokes don’t land? We fact checked your claim and it has come up as misinformation. The Chief is yet to get one over the line.

I'm sure I've chuckled once or twice.

That said, can the neighbourhood watch (at least bring back Daniel). Do more ask JoJo or ask Chief instead.
Stop hacking on the chief. Blokes a legend
Chief is an essential part of the duo, no question.

You don't have to laugh at every joke. Take the Simpsons (early years), I probably only laugh at 50% of the jokes but its still one of my favourite shows.
