So I've had clarification from the club. The pricing I had for this year was at a discounted rate for an 'upgrade' for a "try before you buy" type scenario.

So to clarify: from the club : The full price that most members paid for the Social Club reserved bay package in the 2023 season was $519.00 for an adult and $415.00 for a concession.

So the increase is actually $519 to $549 and concession from $415 to $439 for most. Quite reasonable.

Apologies for getting this wrong.

The counter to this is that there was no reduction when the club removed 2,3 then four games from the 11 game membership.
From memory in at least one of those instances prices actually went up.

Nice work 👊

Cheers mate.

Well it looks like a rookie error in comms by the new CEO - mistakes can be made for sure but lying/deliberately misleading long term rusted ons is a sure way to a short term career as an AFL CEO.

As for the poster on here who believes this is all a beat up by whining posters (and he himself was not impacted by these changes) do us all a favour and heck off from this site - you are an embarrassment to true supporters who post on here and who put their hard earned into the club and have done so over decades.

That is simply no accurate. Seats haven't moved - they're still there. As of today the redeveopment doesn't necessarily mean allocated seats must change, just that the club sees an opportunity commercially in making that change. There is no invisible hand forcing the club into these changes. They chose the convenient half truth because it is easier for them if their members blame the AFL.

You're not wrong - this is spot on.

Only two other points are relevant:
1. You can make change, even unwanted in such a way as to minimise disruption and inconvenience to those based on how much you value them.
2. It remains to be seen whether they're correct in their assumptions commercially. IMO our fixtures are commercially dead and will always be so under the current AFL regime and we are better placed to be aiming for other boutique angles to build our core following. In particular building core reserved membership. Having even more unoccupied space in marginal games will only reduce the atmosphere further.

Going to need to plan for a 2nd mortgage post Tasmania. These are unsustainable rates for an 11 home game fixture IMO and already I'd argue the same for a 7 + dregs / replacement bullshit one.

This not really spot on though (and funnily enough, "not wrong" is a good way of saying right or wrong is not so easy to discern). The new development has meant new function rooms have become available and the stadium expects these function rooms (if used by the host club) will have a permanent bay of seats available out front. NMFC had the choice to not use these new function rooms and leave reserved seating as it is, or to move reserved seating for the few hundred people that this impacts. They could have also delayed the decision until the new function rooms become viable for the club. So IT IS related to the development, IT IS related to stadium management (the AFL), but there is also an aspect of the club choosing to make use of a commercial opportunity. It's complicated, but the club made the mistake of trying to explain a complicated issue in a simple way and they got it wrong in the messaging and in the handling of important "clients". Meanwhile, a few people are being a little mischievous in taking a complicated matter and applying a whole other too simplistic explanation by leaning into club = evil.

I always though that Premiership Club members were guaranteed a grand final ticket.

Only social club has a guaranteed grand final ticket.
It says "Guaranteed Grand Final ticket should NMFC qualify" vs "Guaranteed Grand Final access should NMFC qualify"

What's the difference?? My reading is a premiership club membership gets you a seat at the grand final.

It would be absurd (but not wholly out of the question based on previous conduct of our membership department) that the lower priced membership (Social Club) would have a guaranteed GF ticket, whereas the higher priced membership (Premiership Club) doesn't. I assume (maybe hope is a better word) that this is a typo and nothing more. Still, it begs the question as to who is QAing this stuff for consistency before it's put up on the club website. Not a great look.

It can be an expensive old game. I must set fire to a grand each year. And that's before in game refreshments.

I just saw the prices of GF tickets. My head nearly fell off. Easy to see I haven't been since '99.

How much is a Grand Final ticket?

I don't think I've seen anyone say anything that I'd equate to "club = evil".

Everyone impacted pays big money for premium memberships precisely because they love the club.

$448 for cat 1 ranging through to $185 for Cat 7. Standing/Restricted view $155.

Not sure what category I’d come under. A seat not in the nose bleeds probably $300-400.

Worth every cent to be there mind you, especially after the garbage we have endured since 2000

l'd pay the $448 just to get the best position to watch us win...:D

Again, repeating myself here:

Carlton are the only other Marvel Stadium team who have released their membership seat options for 2024, and they have the exact same access tehy did in 2023. See below.

So, no. Our seats weren't moved because of the redevelopment.

Bro you're comparing Carlton's $995 seats to our $659 seats. Every club is affected, some will charge their fans for it while others will like ours pull back. I'll guarantee you the doggies and aints will either up the price for those bays or pull back as well.

Like I've said before, we've been lucky to have reserved wing seats at the lower goal side price.
I'm affected too but time to move on.

$650 for 7 x L2 reserved wing seats (best in the house) was a bargain when they cost over $70-$90 out right. Plus you get general admin for the other games ($20) for free.

l have heard this will happen,,,,,,,,,,

The fact someone wrongly posted on here that the cost of Social Club membership had skyrocketed and then that info was taken as truth and put into a summary of the thread by Chadfraudo is the reason you need to be skeptical and careful about what you post. And don’t forget, Chadfraudo has a long history of getting things wrong.
