Really surprised Allan ended up being so high, watching him play he doesn’t strike me as an out and out athletic type. Also surprised that Armstrong ended up being so low, wouldn’t surprise me if J. Whitlock ends up going before him because of the athletic upside.
Allan wasn't really in any of the running components though, just agility and jumps right?
Luke Urqhart pretty impressive in the 20m spring and 2km time trial. Shame his kicking ain't great.
Gerreyn and Whitlock twins looking pretty impressive.

Our #22 is now #25 since those clubs got free agency compensation. Sliding back to 7 & 8 is potentially risky because there’s a chance that Melbourne and Richmond (with pick 6) could take both Tauru and Armstrong off the board before pick 7. Everyone knows Melbourne’s long-term struggles with key forwards and Richmond could select a tall after going for a mid with pick 1. I think Brady realises this, which is why he said something like “not sliding back far, only 3-4 spots”. I reckon it’s important for pick 6 to be included in any pick swaps that we do.
I can guarantee you this, that as of right now Will's whiteboard will have the players we want and who is possibly hot on them, I believe if you looked and listened to Will and Brady last year what they said and their thought process on that draft and the things they have said in relation to who we might be interested in this year then their targets are locked in so to speak.

Two years ago we locked into Harry and then George, last year we zeroed in on Zane like lots of other clubs and Colby at the top of the draft, it wasn't done in that last week, it was finalised way earlier than that. We have our boys locked in, its just we don't know who they are, yet.

Like I said not long ago, until we know what our final picks are it may be a guessing game, but some interesting comments that Brady said on Sunday at the combine is giving me the very very strong feeling about who we might be interested in but what pick or picks we have might change our thinking if we can't split or if we do and think one of our players will be gone hence plan B, trade in that future first for a pick in the region before our rival. If we are keen on two certain players at the top end of this draft, we are going to do everything in our powers to get them.

Haven't seen Brady's comments from the combine, anywhere I can listen or read them?

Gabriel Stumpf, KPF on SEN. Where do we think he'd go? Haven't seen his name pop up here yet.

Was probably more looking likely to be a rookie or a very late (50+) ND pick, but after his combine testing wouldn't surprise me if he goes higher.

Playing for the Knights he kicked 27.15 for the year from 17 games, avd'g 10 disposals per game, 3.5 marks, 1.5 tackles. Kicked 3 bags of 3 goals and 1 bag of 4.

Numbers don't jump off the page, but he is 196cm athletic, and still is only 17. Turns 18 on 23rd November. So very late birth date.

That information is not released to the public.
Giantroo, I watched the interview with Brady and Cal from the combine on Sunday , but can't seem to find it, if you have time could you please post it or get the link, thanks.

This one or was there something else?

While working through performances from this years Futures game, it was pointed out to me that I hadn't done any of the 2023 Futures game featuring the 2024 draft crop.

Finn turned in an excellent performance in this game back in 2023, making draft watchers all the more excited about what we might see from him in 2024. He showed his elite evasive skills, athletic traits and sticky hands, as well as his penetrating disposal by foot.

Twomey linked us with Tauru on trade radio.

READER QUESTIONS:

From Vince: What’s happening at the Bombers this trade period?
From Matlock: Realistically, what is the best outcome North Melbourne could get from sliding back from pick two?

MARC MCGOWAN: It’s a two-fold question – there’s a reason why we’re answering these two questions in two.

I think one of the potential things Essendon could look to do is try and deal with a North Melbourne or a West Coast who are both open to splitting [with picks] – North Melbourne pick two, West Coast pick three.

The reason Essendon would be a good candidate for that is because they have a really talented NGA (next generation academy) kid Isaac Kako, who has just shot up draft boards. He’s a really dangerous, exciting, small forward. Melbourne is potentially very interested, I think it will land at pick six and that would be ahead of Essendon. That would force Essendon’s hand and they’d have to use their first pick, which at the moment is at nine, just behind St Kilda’s two picks.

The alternative would be for Essendon to jump ahead of Melbourne, which would allow them to get a pick in before they had to match a bid for Kako. That’s definitely another option.

The thing that needs to be factored in here is North Melbourne don’t need another midfielder. They’ve got such a deep group of young talented midfielders. This draft is dominated by midfielders at the top. Everything I’m hearing is that North Melbourne likes a kid called Alix Tauru, who is an intercept defender, a 191cm intercept defender. No-one else has him as high as potentially North Melbourne would. By sliding back (in the order} they can probably still get Tauru with a later pick. But they might also be able to get a future first round pick, so that’s clearly what North Melbourne is thinking.

It's always nice seeing how we can help out other clubs. Yes, we could get a Tauru type there but we've got to be convinced to not get a Draper or FOS type (or Smillie, for Nostra).
