Looking like the 2025 draft is another that's going to be heavily compromised throughout the first and 2nd rounds:

Zeke Uwland - GC Academy - 1st round
Tom McGuane - Collingwood F/S - 1st round
Tarion Ah-Mu - Melbourne Academy - 1st round
Daniel Annable - Bris Academy - 1st round
Lachlan Carmichael - Sydney Academy - 2nd round
Wes Walley Jnr - WC Academy - 2nd round
Basil Hart - Freo Academy - 2nd round
Noah Chamberlin - Sydney Academy - 2nd round +
Jai Murray - GC Academy - 2nd round +
Dylan Patterson - GC Academy - 2nd round +
Beau Addinsall - GC Academy - 2nd round +
Ben Rogdit - Geelong Academy - 2nd round +
Hussain El Achkar - Essendon Academy - 2nd round +
Kalani White - Melbourne Academy - 2nd round +

In future drafts when Tassie get their start up concessions there is going to be a severe lack of talent available via the draft. If we don't nail the next 2 drafts, we could be looking at an even more extended stay towards the bottom end of the ladder.

This is why we need to be bottom 4 next year to gain the best talent unfortunately.

Lalor, Phillipou, Wilson with Windhager Tagging and supported by Wanganeen-Milera on a wing is an ok youth base for St Kilda to grow back from this Bard-like misadventure into free-agency. It will still take them 5 years to transition from a middling team capable of beating most but not making finals to one actually on the right path.

I hate them as much as the next person but we pour a lot of scorn on their list management when they've won 35 games and played a final in the last three years.

Watson would be a bust in our side is this year's version of the Logan McDonald-esque copium.

You could apply this logic to every good player in the league then.

I'll have a go.

Isaac Heaney would be average in our side because be wouldn't have other players covering his man.

Sam Taylor would be a bust at North because the midfield would overwhelm him with I50s.
I am saying good players would play well with us Watson Heeney Taylor would all play well and make a huge difference in our team Do you think they would or wouldn't.

I was agreeing with you mate.

The notion of Nick Watson being a dud with us is just stupid.

Harry Sheezel didn't need to land at a top 8 side to win a rightful rising star.

Logan McDonald is just not particularly good.

Watson however has already shown he is very dangerous. I agree with you that it’s absurd to claim Watson wouldn’t get a touch at north. Sure he might not have been as good but he’d still have shown he belongs.
A nd that is exactly what i said in my post. I am not sure if it was misinterpreted but he would be great in our side.

Gold Toast franchise will make a complete squad out of 'Academy' leg-ups at this rate..

To be fair we played Harry in a position he'd basically never played and was able to consistently have access to the ball.

we did the same with McKercher and he looked pretty good although it is clear his future lies up the ground.

while the kid we had in the forward line looked in and out of it.

Watson will probably be a gun.

Duursma will also probably be a gun.

both would likely have found it tough in our current forward line set up. The one that played there did.

He wouldn't perform as well as he did at Hawthorn imo (could have had 30+ goals if he'd kicked a little straighter) but it'd still be noticeable how good he was. In the same way it was noticeable how good ZD was when he took 11 marks in his second game.

Fortunately (?) we'll have a pretty early R1 pick in 2025 as well.

I'm looking forward to our academy/academies (?!) yielding some player/s.

Wonder if the changes to the price required to match academy bids will affect the above listing?!

Hang in there. Our Southbank and Docklands academy will soon bear fruit.

For our networks and infrastructure team.

Wes Walley Jnr - WC Academy - 2nd round.

Draft this bloke, no-one will ever see / find him hiding in a fwd.pocket or gliding down the wing ball in hand.

I think it will. GC are going to have to cough up a lot more than they have in the past (junk picks) to match bids. Going to be hard for them to match if they have multiple bids in the first and second rounds.

Finn just can't quite get it going this year and remains a shadow of the player we saw tearing up the Talent League at times last season. We get glimpses of his immense talent, but he flits in and out of games, threatening to take over but never quite managing to do it. Fortunately for him and for us his Chargers team has improved dramatically in the back half of the year got up here in a tight game to progress to the next round of the finals so he'll get another chance to show what he can do.

A mature agree to keep an eye on is Brodie McLaughlin from Williamstown. Kicked 4, 4 and 6 goals in the VFL finals series.

I was honestly surprised he didn't get picked up last year once he was delisted by Gold Coast. I think he suffers the same issues as Sellers if I'm honest. Low disposal, bit of a tweener @ 192cm and doesn't have much of a ground level game. Be interesting to see if he gets another opportunity, two consecutive 50+ goal seasons in the VFL is nothing to be sneezed at.
