Don't get it. He's a lump of a lad with so much physical potential and possible refinement and just moves like a natural footballer.

I'd love us to reach for him. Yeh he could be a disappointment but a shot at a 195cm well built natural mid is irresistible for mine.

You might get Collier-Dawkins but you might get Cripps/Bont too.

Take the punt.
We've got so much talent on the list as is, we're not at ground zero anymore, I think it's a risk worth taking.

I think Draper suits our needs
North will be absolutely sure that he doesn't do a JHF and head back to SA. If they do pick him then l believe he will be the player we need if not then there might be doubts.

l'm hoping its
Tigger: Jagga > FOS > Lalor
North: Jagga > Draper

With respect mate.

Twomey today on gettable gave another strong link to Tauru and North today and he also simultaneously gave his phantom top 6 - not attached to any club or order.

Tauru wasn’t in that top 6 - but in his likely next few picks in his top 10.

There has also appears to have been some Richmond led feeding of their draft plans because McGowan Ralph and Twomey have all said the tigers aren’t keen on trading p6 and 11 in the last 24 hours.

If that’s ALL true.

Then you likely won’t trade pick 2 for 10+18 as you won’t get the player you want.

But you get him at 7or8 and a future first that probably gets you p18 and maybe slightly earlier anyway.

Thats not a saints fan trying to ream you here. It’s actually a win win for both clubs and it’s hard to call Twomey out as having an agenda or being wrong all too often.
So, reading the first 2 bolded lines, doesn't that sound like a deal has already been done somewhere? Wouldn't surprise me. We'd be nuts to take Tauru at 2, IMO, and I love the look of him.
Then even your third line after that, regarding Tigers not keen on trading 6 and 11, could that not be club driven to control the narrative, check the market, with the supporters?
We don't know what's true, like literally none of us have any idea.

I also haven't seen a Saints offer re 7/8..... what is it? 7+8 for 2 and F1?

No its 7 or 8 + our future first for 2 and your future second

Thats the rumour

And it would be odd if the tigers are keen if 3 pretty decent journos said they aren’t keen on it as they specifically feel the talent at 2 and 6 is similar.

Must say I’m surprised there hasn’t been much of a link with the Roos and Langford.

He’s an elite mark for a midfielder and would give your young midfield a point of difference with his ability to play as a pseudo key forward when thrown forward.

Ldu and especially sheezel are capable goal kickers but they’re not someone you can plant deep forward and expect great results (I’m aware sheezel is a quality forward but contested marking beast he is not).

Obviously Duursma is the one who could provide this but what are the confidence levels that he will be a bona fide midfielder as opposed to a pinch hit?

Curious to hear your thoughts.
My understanding is that Langford didn’t interview well with us. Made VERY clear that he is a fanatical Tigers man and apparently always will be.
That aside, if we are stuck with pick 2 and we opt for a mid, he would be well behind FOS, Draper, Smith and Smiley. All would suit us better than another Ziebell.

Hmmmm. We must be reading different things mate........seems to me that the clear 3 are Lalor, FOS + Jagga, possibly Draper gets thrown in there, but majority of time it's those 3. Then there's daylight to Langford and others.
If you are including John Ralph in your "3 pretty decent journos", then we have a massive difference of opinion on decent journos....the bloke may as well paint a yellow stripe diagonally across his face.
Twomey doesn't tell the whole truth, as he has certain things he is privy to that he can't share. That's ok, but I take what he says at this point with a grain of salt. If he's saying the same the day before, then I'll take on board.
Who's the 3rd journo? Not Jay Clarke? Dude may as well write in crayon.

7+F1 for our pick 2 shouldn't need our F2 thrown into the deal....but I guess what we could flick your F1 for would be relevant. I'd hope we wouldn't take pick 8 instead of 7.

You include Ralph as decent as it’s Richmond news and unfortunately for everyone his trade news was pretty spot on about the haul they would land and the picks they would get.

Again, whether it happens or it doesn’t. It does seem like the link and desire for Tauru is genuine.

Now I’ve been posting here a little over the last few days and I’ve seen the beliefs of the locals here and that they think they’ll just take a mid.

It really does start to sound like you guys need to have conversations about what’s an acceptable and realistic slide down or the fact you might be grabbing him at 2.

For the record Tauru is the same height as a certain blonde legend of the game.

He also made his name winning the rising star as a CHB before being a star CHF for a decade.

There is a lot to like about Tauru and you can see why multiple clubs in that 7+ range are keen.

I hope the blues pick him then 🤣

Tauru looks a top 10 talent, no doubt.........although I'm not sure on his kicking action........it's got that weird paused moment in it, like a certain Ben McKay. Loops the ball too much and at the top level he could lose all confidence in it.
AT marks it like Sicily, if he kicked like him he'd probably be pick 1.....Weitering vibes then.

I'm also of the opinion we are keen on another KP player and playing funny buggers, but not sure.

Who's the blonde legend? I thought you were talking about Roo, but don't remember him paying CHB. Or Peter Knights? But he was a legendary CHB. I've drawn a blank on who else you might be referring to. But if it's one of them, they are not far off midfielder heights these days.

I am talking about Rooey.

Played CHB in year 2 - his first full season and won the rising star.

Played forward from Y3.

I'd do that

I'd do that
I bet you would.

No club is doing that type of trade in this years draft.

I haven't read that AT has the running power of Roo. But not many would. Similar kicking efficiency though, but the looks of things ;)
If he has the same career as Rooey your really not going to give a flying **** about kicking efficiency.

As I said, very clear why a number of clubs in the backend of the top 10 are excited about him.

Good try big fella.

Imagine if we went Langford and Draper fell to Adelaide.

Just imagine.
That sort of stuff is beyond me masked avenger. Not convinced Draper gets to us anyway.

My view was that you’re chock full of speed and class in the midfield but lack some height and the ability to be a forward threat with your midfield brigade.

Draper would fit any team beautifully but with Colby and wardlaw I would’ve thought there is some real pace there already. Plus those two as well as sheezel and Simpkin means your midfield is primarily of the 180-183cm type. LDU is really the only outlier there.

I actually think we will likely pick Langford if Draper is unavailable but I’ve just been surprised that he hasn’t been linked to you much at all. It’s also why I think Lalor would be perfect for you but it seems like he will be off the board anyway.

Feel like we are in full agreeance. I like your chances of 7+8 for 2. Not sure others on here do. Maybe we swap F1's?

Thats what I was going to propose.

NM out: 2 & 2025 1st (possibly top 5).
NM in: 7, 8 & SK 2025 1st (possibly top 10).
