This is all rubbish based off his interview on SEN where they pushed the point. My understanding is that Langford didn’t interview well with us. Made VERY clear that he is a fanatical Tigers man and apparently always will be.
That aside, if we are stuck with pick 2 and we opt for a mid, he would be well behind FOS, Draper, Smith and Smiley. All would suit us better than another Ziebell.
Who has the best kick. We need another good kick of a footy.. im too harsh to judge emThis is making the pick 2 choice easy.

Yeah I reckon Langford roosts the ball at every opportunity. FOS kicks the ball beautifully to space. Love him.No.
FOS easily imo.
One gets it 28x a game in a contested environment, so is probably fatigued, while the other is as fresh as a daisy and doesn't get near it.No.
FOS easily imo.
So would North do 2, F2 for 7,8?This will sound like I’m getting frustrated with you…..I’m not……But I just don’t believe we sell the farm for “reasons” and what every one else is saying? You reckon Richmond would give up pick 1 for pick 5+9 or 7+10? Not a faaaaarrrking chance is what I think.
Granted we don’t have pick 1, but we have the next one.
It’s worth more than the media are crapping on about. Maybe not 6+11, but worth more than 7+18 or whatever.
Richmond are stupid. Too full of themselves.
Or there is already a deal in place.
Saints haven’t had a marquee midfielder for a long long time. Here’s their chance to attain one. They ain’t getting one at pick 7. Won’t happen. They might say, “Can’t believe our guy was there at pick 7, we had him a fair bit higher!”………but they won’t be FOS, Smith or Lalor.
They’ll be a caveat midfielder, with things to work on.
Could work out, but won’t be a blue-chip, rolled-gold mid you could take at 2. Give me FOS over Smillie or Reid, all day every day.
I’d be staggered if there is any element of truth to this.My understanding is that Langford didn’t interview well with us. Made VERY clear that he is a fanatical Tigers man and apparently always will be.

Not sure what Brady would do, but def sounds more in the ball park of where it needs to be to me. I think Richmond are insane for not just locking away 6 and 11 as fast as they could. Unless we baulked at that.So would North do 2, F2 for 7,8?
North would do 2 and F1 for 7/8. This board would hate it but I reckon we would. So would North do 2, F2 for 7,8?
Means both clubs would be comfortable/uncomfortable…..so probably about right. I prefer the F2, of course.North would do 2 and F1 for 7/8. This board would hate it but I reckon we would.

I'd hate the shit out of it tbhNorth would do 2 and F1 for 7/8. This board would hate it but I reckon we would.
Smith up to 30 meters?No.
FOS easily imo.
Watching Jagga’s highlights reel on Gettable today, geez he’s slick in the contested stuff. Gets on the move bloody quick too.Smith up to 30 meters?
I still shake my head at proposals of trading our F1 out!!North would do 2 and F1 for 7/8. This board would hate it but I reckon we would.
The mids this year really aren't that flash, we have four or five more promising ones already. LDU, Sheezel, Wardlaw, McKercher, Duursma. We shouldn't be drafting players just in case someone leaves when we have significant holes that need filling. If we don’t draft a top line midfield this year and trade out of the elite bracket of top 6 to target key position players it could be a disaster.
I’m risking a ban here butttttttt I can’t help but look at what if scenarios and on that..if LDU departs for the war chest on offer from the saints and Will doesn’t take his chances in 2025 we could be minus 2 midfielders on our list. LDU is no certainty to stay if things don’t go our way in 2025 on field. If he goes the big hole he leaves won’t be filled with anyone currently on our list.
While we have the ability to select top class midfielders with the potential to be top liners, we should be selecting them.
But if we all agreed this joint would be pretty boring.Whichever way we got at the draft it’s a clear a segment of our supporter base will be unhappy.
Draft best available at 2 and we’re very likely looking at another midfielder, which will frustrate those campaigning for a key position player at all costs
Reach for a tall and those closely watching the draft will feel like we’ve made a big mistake missing on the top end talent
Trade in our F1 to fill a need and there will be supporters livid at giving up potentially a future top 4 picks for something very likely not comparable in this year draft
Don’t move that pick into this year and we go into 2025 without addressing certain areas of concern
Not saying all those players will be better than all of this year's mids. Of course they won't. But all were higher rated in their draft years. It is time to invest elsewhere on the field. Not sure about that, unless you have a crystal ball?
Duursma isn’t ever going to be a full time mid. Pinch hit for minutes but never be a full time midfielder in the mould of LDU. On LDU he could be departing as well so 2 out of the 5 you listed.
