I think this is the part that shits me most.

As far as getting value for a potential top 5 pick. This is one of the worst trades that has been done since the point system was introduced.

i shudder to think what we would have done with that essendon pick if we got it tho instead of the dees

i wonder if we had armstrong or faull ahead of whitlock?

but agree we should have got so much more value out of our f1

the bitching and moaning is incredible
this trade and draft period we got:
senior experience in the fwd, mid and back + top 20 from 2 years ago fp

in the draft we got 2nd best pick (some rated #1) elite disposal user (akin to Sheez) who can be used off wing, hb, hf (and eventually perhaps be a mid)

we then get a rated KPF/D swingman - which we were all screaming out for. Yes Future first is a big price but we get their F2nd back (most likely first pick on night 2).
Remember where Larkey went.
Remember the fwd line West Coast, Cats, Doggies, Pies, tiges (17) had.

All on board for a return to 1993.

McCartin over Trac, Billings over Bont, picking Travaglia and Tauru when your midfield has less talent the Kardashian family. Don’t worry about our trade, be worried that (like wooden spoons) drafting blunders are now synonymous with your footy club.

With Larkey, Darling, Comben, Logue, Corr and Xerri in the best 22.

We'd be pretty set for every area of the ground other than small forwards, but we have a few developing small forwards who could put their hand up.

Barring of course the rather startling possibility that M Whitlock in his own right might well turn out to be a very good footballer.

If we finish 10th, our f1 will be a pick in the double digits, and it's not a bad deal.

Negative: We've basically traded an f1 for a 28 year old midget who can kick 40m max.

Hope Mitlock delivers the goods, and hope this place can get out of the mentality of treating the draft, rather than the actual season, as the most important part of the year

How can you say that, when every component of that trade is a complete unknown until the career of Matt Whitlock starts to play out next year and beyond and then the 2025 draft order is known at the end of the trade period next year?

I'm not Robinson Crusoe here. Regardless of how well Whitlock turns out, it is a shambles because we gave up an F1 to get back a pick we traded for Caleb Daniel. That is simply incompetent.

It's a shambles of list management, which is why I am pissed off with the list manager.

It would be much more palatable if we had any trust in the clowns running the show. But after a plethora of shocking decisions it’s hard to have any belief in them that they’ve done “well” out of this.

I feel awful for the player, given the enormous amount of pressure that will be lumped on him by not only north fans but he’ll have the entire industry reminding him of what we gave up for him ala Stocker/Blues.
