How do the 49ers get Purdy to the Rams 20 yard line so he can launch a Hail Mary.

Cost the team at least 2 TDs, as he does every week, with his noodle arm.
Pitchy pitchy woo woo

9ers come off a bye and only get 2FGs against a defense that gave up over 450yds a few days ago

Which bye?

You can say a lot of things about this team but rest differential this year isn't one of them.

Well bugger me. What a game! I've just got in and read the game recap. My first thought - genuinely - was for Al Michaels. Did he resist the urge to slash his wrists?

yeah. but he did get really pervy asking Kaylee if she was doing a half time wardrobe change

Why is every Thursday night game absolute shit? I thought it might be due to the short week between games but you often see fantastic games on say a Sunday or Monday where both teams also had a short week
Sunday or Monday short turnarounds are only a day lost [typically the Monday or tuesday rest day is taken off players unless they are vets who get the rest day still]. TNF is 3 days lost.

Monday or tuesday one will be a rest day. the other is rehab and gym work along with all the normal film and team/possession meetings and review the last game and start breaking film for this week
Wednesday is the padded practice for the week [you dont get a padded practice on a TNF week so this becomes the walkthrough]
Thursdays will be game plan install with shells on the practice field
Fridays is another practice for game plan
Saturdays walkthrough

on a TNF week you get a walkthrough thats about it in terms on on field stuff, everything else is rehab and film. the Wednesday padded practice is taken out, Thursday-Saturday is merged into one session on a Wednesday walkthrough. and rehab time goes from 5/6 days to 3/4 days. Film will be less, gameplan will be more basic day 1 install stuff

Last week's was a ripper.
because both teams had a full week.

Agree although we do see the occasional good game from teams coming off the short week so it's not a given those will all be to the standard of todays shitfest.

The game would be a better product overall with no TNF so maybe there could be a trade-off when they move to 18 games that sees TNF shelved but I wont hold my breath.

& anyway, I'd need to find a new excuse to blow off a few hours on Fridays.
