We can say this all works out because it’s cyclical, but recent history shows that both South divisions are atrocious and don’t show many signs of picking up any time soon. I’d bet that next year both winners of those divisions will have worse records than 1-2 of the wild card teams - again.
Quirk with the schedule next season has the NFC West playing both NFC & AFC South.

The Packers 6 losses combined were 24 points. Vikings loss today was 22.
Can't feel too hard done when they didn't show up for a tshirt and hat game with the 1 seed on the line

The record argument comes up every year. If you couldn't win today, why would you expect to get a consolation prize.

The lawsuit also seems to explain why Skip and Shannon had a falling out, Skip was being a super jealous cringe weirdo (as expected) of Shannon ****ing the women for free that he offered 1.5m to and couldn't even though he didnt.

Also reads like the redacted women (perhaps Jenny Taft?) wasn't given a new contract coz she wouldnt **** execs.

See how many games you would have won with Shanahan's situational game management, a kicker with the yips and a special teams unit that gets their own short bus to travel to games.
Oh you, try winning with statistically the worst defense in NFL history.

Been there done that, do not recommendars

Well yeah but that wasn't the argument.
Because there is no good argument for hosting a WC game if you dont win the division.
The Vikings had their chance to win the north and got blown out, just like the Packers had chances to win the games they lost but were not good enough in late game moments.

Yeah, that's what we were debating. I agree that the hosting rules should stay as is, but I can also see the points that people make advocating for the better W/L record hosting.

The margins of wins or losses in games is irrelevant.

No team deserves to host a WC game if they didn't win the division.

No 2 NFL teams play an equal schedule anyway. The closest you get is inside the division and if you can't win that too bad. Every team has their chances to win the division and earn the home playoff game

Yeah every few years there is a bad division where the winner hosts a WC team who has 2-3 more wins. So what.

Its quite possible (some might even say probable) that Caleb Williams will end up being the worst of first round QBs taken last year.

I know everyone loves Daniels, Nix and Maye and rightly so but **** me Penix looks amazing for a guy with only 3 starts, he might end up being the best of the bunch, gives me Justin Herbert vibes with the arm talent and the way he started his career. Then you have McCarthy working with O'Connell, decent chance he turns out to be very good.

I still there’s a good chance Caleb ends up being best QB in this draft.
If he gets some decent coaching i trust can turn it all around like young did this year.

Not as high on daniels as most his running style won’t hold up over long term and he can’t beat the good teams. Caleb has 2 wins over playoff teams this year to daniels 1 and Caleb was average and on a much worse team.

If I had to rank them on who’d I think will end up the best

1. Maye
2. Caleb
3. Pennix
4. Daniels
5. JJ only cos of coaching
6. Bo

In the end I think we get two superstar qbs and 4 solid to great starters out if this draft.

If last year's 49ers show up again in 2025 / 26 they will be favorites in every game - that is one soft schedule.

And this is why the NFL playoffs need to stay as they are - the unbalanced schedule results in seasons like we saw from the NFC North with Detroit, Minnesota and Green Bay this year - an easy beat 4th team plus matchups against weak (AFC South) or mediocre (NFC West) divisions results in inflated win totals - between them they went 23-1 against those 2 divisions and 5-1 against the Bears.

Context matters, youre counting that win vs the Rams when they were missing Kupp, Nacua and 4/5 of their oline and Packers resting Love for the second half. Come on. :tearsofjoy:

How is that any different than Daniel’s beating eagles when hurts was concussed 5 minutes into the game.

Didnt say it was, but youre using a ridiculous metic to say Williams is better than Daniels. (Daniels win was far more impressive however vs one of the best defences in the league trailing by a large margin)

Everyone and their dog said Caleb had the far better situation heading into the season now everyone wants to act like Daniles clearly did.

No, god I can't believe I'd be happy to have Mariota back!! It's gonna be such a shit time being a Titans fan over the next few years

Surely just draft Cam Ward and be done with it.
