This is not just a NRL Stadium. It’s Perth’s only rectangle stadium, just like Melbourne Rectangle Stadium.
It also host Perth Glory in the A-League and Western Force in Super Rugby. And soccer internationals and concerts. And it’s owned by the WA Government.
The western grand stand, which is anticipated to get a redevelopment if Perth gets the 18th NRL team, is from before the 1970’s when the ground was a WAFL oval. It’s the last bit that has not been modernised over the last decade.

NRL very strong and in good shape. P Vlandys has done a good job.
Yet the discussion is where to play the Cronulla final and Vlandy wants to disrupt the swans final
rather than let commonsense prevail.
How can a NRL final attract less than a giants final in Sydney ?

I wouldn't give PVL any credit for that. The match was always going to draw a good crowd given the Bulldogs resurgence - it was their first home final for the best part of a decade.

I remember a Swans Vs Roos final for 19k that got the same treatment.
NBL meets WA Gov on Perth expansion, HoopsFest
Senior NBL executives met with Western Australia government officials on Thursday to discuss the prospect of HoopsFest returning to the state, as well as potential expansion, sources told ESPN.
NBL wants the Gold Coast. WA government wants a second team.

TV ratings in Sydney for the Swans game have been used by Buzz Rothfield as the deflection tactic re the dreadful crowd at the NRL.

And thats probably fair if you are going to claim you win Sydney based on crowds. they get to do the same on their chosen metrics.

But it isn't equivalent, that's the point. Physical attendance represents both more passionate support and greater revenue generation.

There is little to argue about crowds - people are expending time, energy and money to attend.
Ratings are a sample that can and have been easily manipulated.
They are not absolute. They are at best a guide.
68 063 for the game against NZ at Accor Stadium.
While Rugby isn't in the best spot at the moment, still some strong crowds around the country.
Good support always for the All Blacks, Boks fans were out in force in Brisbane and assume Perth.
Tickets sales have been excellent for the Lions tour next year and along with the Rugby Championship will be another well attended year.
Plenty to work on for RA in regards to TV Viewers, Domestic Comp, pathways and other areas.
It's like the old days of cricket - strong internationally with little domestic interest.
