Na, Lance, Howell and Pickett had longer to run on their rookie contracts when traded, more team control. Thats why they went for more.

Hard to trade someone teams arent sure on in the last year of their rookie contract. Im sure they tried, but teams weren't buying until the price was rock bottom/there was no market for the Bears. They knew they were taking a QB at pick 1 and could wait it out.

Also hard to trade a QB that is pretty average at actually doing what you need a qb to do throwing the ball and taking care of the ball. 2 things which fields is horrible at.

I am starting to believe everyone who thinks fields is a good qb only plays fantasy football and never watched him play.
