Was watching and think it was more impressive than you think.
Pressure was really high and only guys with class showed up.
Match sim you see it all.
J could be the ace in our game plan 😊
Uhaggen was not just impressive but the stand out.
Only one I was disappointed in was our new recruit from st kilda 😐
Also make your bets on number 9 for rising sun 🌞 jet

Selective vision from todays match sim.

Mucho handball. Mucho Movemento, Naugto kicking on his righto and an interesting showing from Lacho Smitho.

Premiers. Lock it in.

Only a small highlights package. But Sanders looking really good. Definite round one debut on the cards. Looks like Jamarra manning the goal square a fair bit, compared to Naughton usually being that guy. Could actually work out better, Jamarra quicker on the lead if we can create space and is athletic. And some of Naughtons best work has been pushing up the ground a little. Be interesting to see how different our forward structure looks this season coming.

Ryan Daniels is pretty good as far as reporters go. He might have a direct line to Daniel Pratt too from the last few years at West Coast as I can't remember him reporting a ton of Dogs news. But good to hear hopefully not concussion related

Well edited by the comms staff, headlines should read “Sanders Wins Match Sim”

Is Sanders the first player since Lewis Taylor to unofficially win the Rising Star Award before the season commences?

I reckon the super flood isn't a defensive tactic it's to get players more acclimatised to pressure and try to create and choose better options going forward
Two things the best teams do well. Handle pressure. And apply pressure. We were very poor at both last season.

Am all for creating high pressure/tighter match sims. Also think we should be practicing goal kicking with someone standing on the mark, a couple other players near mouthing off. More real match day vibes. None of that unpressurized stuff like you're having a kick in the park with mates.

Couldn't even tell you who half those players were

Nice goal from number 16 - ah, that’s McLean. No, wait…

Nice tap in the ruck from number 37 - that’s Roarke and his knees, wtf? No, wait…

Love the look of Darcy's ruckwork!
The club might have a difficult decision to make at the end of the year. If Darcy comes on physically this season and looks promising in the ruck, is the club better off to move forward with a Darcy + Lobb tandem for 2025 & 2026 and use the $800k for English (plus additional first round pick in FA) on more pressing areas of need?

Obviously Darcy isn't ready for a full time ruck role now but the club needs to determine if he's better suited to that position long term given our riches with Naughton & Jamarra. It doesn't make a whole heap of sense to have all of three of them clogging up the forward line together.

I’m always always against spending dumb money on ruckmen when journeymen rucks are winning premierships.

English is a luxury, not a necessity, and I 100% think we’d get by with a serviceable tapper on minimum salary vs million dollar English (who let’s face it, Is one Naughton knee away from retirement), I’d much rather that money go to areas of need.

this for sure imo, especially in the pre-game warm ups

how often do you see the forwards dobbing goals with gay abandon while warming up, only to totally botch their kicking in the game when someone is on the mark

Vandermeer and Clarke's new job.

Season 2024 is fast approaching and Bulldogs fans can catch a glimpse of their favourite players as they hit the track at Victoria University Whitten Oval during the following times:

  • From 9:30am, Wednesday 17 January
  • From 9:30am, Friday 19 January
Times for the coming week will be updated as they become available.

We look forward to welcoming you back to The Kennel in 2024.

It’s a nice change that the club is actually advertising and encouraging fans to come along to training.

It’s a far cry from that paranoid locked down bs of previous years, like any club didn’t know our stale ass boring game plan anyway 😂
Just shows how out of touch Bevo was at the time. I reckon he's been overruled.
