Training 2024 Pre-Season

Talking of pundits, I have heard two different SEN announcers say "pundants" in the last few weeks. Is it going to be like verse instead of versus where the stupid get the language changed to suit their ignorance?
We’re already in much better shape than this season past, have picked up more leg speed and running power, will have our 2 main goal kickers back in tandem..not to mention the natural incremental improvement of our gun youngsters!
As the great Bruce Wills once said…yippee kiyay mother f….r (media!!).

I get that it is based off training observations and I've not been there so is Mason Wood missing in your team because he's in injury rehab after post season surgery?
Probably the same reason Butler isn’t in it as well.

I usually skip this part
Jeepers Dard.....did you buy the "Mitch and Windy wind them up 2024" calendar.

I'm probably showing my age here, but that pic reminds me of the opening scenes of the TV show "Petticoat Junction" except it was a group of young lassies in the hot tub.

Or so I'm told.

Ok posters....fess up....who else remembers that show....!!!!!!

Claims of "exciting times ahead" remind me of the famous Mike Tyson quote...

"Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the nuts."

A cautionary note,....it's December 22.
Cairnsman Dec 22 "sharman has the turning circle of the titanic, will be delisted come years end mark my word"

Most pundits Dec 23 "Sharman is best 22"

Great summary. Great to hear Henry is training the house down. Not sure why Saints fans are not more excited about him, looks to have real X factor and massive upside. Interesting take on Higgins too.

I watched a couple of his games late in the year and only saw one of his better games. His kicking is a bit of liability but he is very zippy and gets around the ground. His best games he was getting heaps of the ball and involved in everything. To me he looks like a Brad Hill replacement with more suspect kicking. To me I'd play him as a running high half forward that moves up with the play.

At 22 he really hasn't even scratched the surface yet after a break out year in 2023. There is heaps of potential there but I think most don't know what we have yet so going in hopeful but with tempered expectations.

Dow is the same. Had his best season by far but on limited minutes. His kicking is still suspect but his burst through backs looked elite at times. If he can play close to maximum game time and keep his numbers up he'll be a steal. Like Henry he's a gamble rather than the finished article so we won't really know what we have until we start playing other sides.

If they both end up best 22 or hopefully in our top 10 players we have absolutely smashed the trade period.

It’s the lads who everyone seems to be hyping up…

Will bear absolutely ZERO relation to the actual team.

I've hear the head on a stick is carving it up too in December, apparently he's reduced the turning circle to that of a road train.

By January it's possible he'll be doing 3 point turn parking at Southland.
