Apart from finn, none of those players would have been counted in ‘outside run’ just two seasons ago. Be interesting to see historical results cos such as CJ, Morrison, Moore etc wouldn’t have slowed down and amon, ambrosia added to list

Seriously deep in outside run. When that clicks for the hawks, up the ladder they go.

Top 5 did a phenomenal effort in the conditions that they were dealt with, but I'm massively impressed by Jack Scrimshaw, Josh Bennetts, Bailey Macdonald and Henry Hustwaite who all lodged PBs for the time trial.

JB, HH & BMac being second year players is such a positive sign, and seeing Scrim do his PB after 8 years in the system shows that the penny might have dropped and he realises that talent alone won't take him the whole way.

Super effort by the guys!
Great stuff Scrim.

A rundown of the day from Burgey

Best part of that video is seeing the Wiz sticking to Punky like a clingy ex.

Gets to learn all the tricks from one of the best to ever do it.

It kind of had to. Ginnivan and Watson arriving puts massive pressure on him, as do Bennetts and O'Sullivan who are both showing impressive signs. Competition for spots is definitely going to be a thing all year

Is Ethan Phillips currently training at the club?

Exactly, caught my eye too, hence added it to the pics I posted earlier.

Hawks have posted gallery of pics now and the article mention this

The time trial format - which is now in its second year - saw players run four separate 1km segments with short breaks in between.

From memory, last yr I think was 3 segments of 1km each

I did see his name in one of the training reports but we don't have a spot, so not sure how he was in training.

The Bulter result in the 2km run was the biggest surprise for me that put a smile on my face. He’s hard at it as well so hopefully getting to more contests will improve his contribution to the team and can become part of an extensive midfield rotation group where we go at 110% all of the time!

Huge results from Scrim and Butler

Weddles such a freak show , will have an NFL/NBA franchise after him soon the way he is going.
Something did seem to click for Scrimshaw at the middle to end point of last season. For all of the things he's good at, the coaching group made it clear they wanted players running and Scrim just seemed to get the ball standing still. It's one of the reasons why we regularly had worse players like Bramble in front of him at selection - he ran.

Glad to see he's carrying it through, hitting PBs and working on his weaknesses.

It did click for him, didn't it?

From memory, the coaches were delivering these pointed messages throughout the year; the penny finally dropped towards the back end of the year, though.

Need to keep breust for another year after this. Absolute professional in the way he goes about it, with guys like Watson by his side, it can only be a positive going forward. It's gonna be tight picking best 23 every week if everyone is fit. Just from three off seasons, we've done a great job at managing our list to what Sam wants it to be like! No holding back ! Just go for it I say.

It'll be based on output, but for as long as he's kicking 40+ goals I imagine he'll have a spot on our list.

Dolph Lundgren.
I knew him. He did his masters in chemistry (well chem eng) when I was doing my PhD at Usyd. Was a genuinely beautiful human being.

I read a story that some people broke into his mansion when he was not home, but his wife was. When they saw the some of the family portraits they realised whose house they had broken into, so they left. I want to believe.
