Ugly hitout. Looked horrible when we tried to chain handball through the corridor, resulted in 3-4 easy goals against. It looked chaotic and poorly drilled.
Brown and Verrall did some nice things.

Jefferson didn't do much, he went off limping to the bench for a while but has bobbed up with two goals towards the end. one was a nice snap under pressure. How’s Jefferson looking? We are really starting to cook up some draft picks.
Laurie, Weiderman, Jefferson, Howes, Sparrow
Is Adams playing?
Bit stiff with Sparrow considering he was Pick 27.How’s Jefferson looking? We are really starting to cook up some draft picks.

I'm not blasting them, but i did find it amusing that comparing the draft highlights of Brown and Windsor then in todays game it was flipped. Brown was clean and Windsor turned it over a fair bit
This is just an observation of course, practise game at AFL speed Windsor should adjust after a bit. Brown looks like a good draft steal even for a F/S
Fair if that's how it looked to youWindsor looked like Hunt 2.0 today with his blazing away only to turn it over.
Yes it was his first hit out, but that’s how he looked.
Yeah i wasn't saying the skill wasn't there. It's harder picking through the zones at AFL level than at TAC. Even the closing speed of players at AFL level would throw him off early days. I think he has the skillset that with more exposure to AFL will get betterWindsor turned it over but I love his intensity, macintosh gave him some professional contact in their matchup and he handled the physicality well. He won ball, his turnovers weren’t ideal but I think his skill is there. It’s pretty hard also when your team doesn’t have much chain marking options forward of the centre.
Dude, you're doing my head in. Sparrow is a decent player. And Laurie played okay today. How’s Jefferson looking? We are really starting to cook up some draft picks.

You should be thankful for Sparrow kicking goals from 50m in the 2021 granny to help us win the game in the 3rd qtr. And then set up Brown for the first goal in the 4th quarter. Also kicked a goal in last year QF when no-one else could. Followed it up with a decent effort in the SF. Odd post for you to focus on a player that is actually decent.
I find it very hard to believe that Tim Lamb and Jason Taylor didn't rate any pick after pick 20 yet all the other clubs found 40 other players that they rated higher that Kynan Brown who was fantastic today. Should've cut Ben Brown and Tom Mcdonald and breathed some fresh air into the list by hitting the draft harder. But sure, let's run with Schache, Billings, Ben Brown and TMac.

Pick 27s on average have played 65 games for their career. Sparrow's already played 74 at age 23 and is a premiership player. Hardly a bust at that spot.
Yeah, I agree. I don't blame them trying to get Reid but it was pretty obvious that parting with pick 27 + 35 for next to nothing was not a part of the plan. It would've been nice to have those 2 picks running around today. They did rate players, they just said they didn’t because they cooked up trade period trying to get Harley Reid and were trying to justify throwing away picks 22+35 or whatever it was.
Anyone who believes the crap we didn’t rate players over Tmac or Brown when 17 other clubs were taking picks has marbles in there head.
There's nothing wrong with being a role player though? Some guys are competitive and that's much more important than clean disposals. There was a time that we drafted Sam Blease and James Strauss with picks in the teens to address clean disposals. How did that pan out?Just because we are gifting him games doesn’t make him a good player who will be part of our next flag.
He might make it as a half forward but he isn’t close to being the midfield accumulator with clean disposal that we need.
People complained that we were always kicking it long and high to the pockets. Today, I don't think we did that but people are focussing on the skill errors trying to take the game on. I thought we brought the ball through the corridor much more than usual.I know it's just a practice game but I was rather underwhelmed with the game. There wasn't a lot to suggest we are trying to move the ball quicker. Everything looked very clunky. On a positive note I thought the ball movement looked much better in the vfl periods, perhaps it just easier at that point nevertheless it's something.

the guy stood up in the finals, in 2021 and last year.Sparrow was in 73% of CBas for a total of 0 clearances.
When is the bloke going to step up.
Not one clearance from 25 CBAs yet Goodwin will roll him out for our first CBA against Sydney no doubt.
