Democrats are guilty of inaction, but you seem to exist in a world of make believe where Republicans and Trump have acted in the interests of the majority, or that their stated agenda will.

The issues people are upset about aren't that different to here.

I've probably visited more US states (14 + DC) across multiple trips, than a lot of Americans, though I obviously wouldn't pretend to know more about their lives there. More than most on national politics, actual economic trends, and political history I suspect though.

The big 5 main reasons IMHO For The Democrats Loss:
1) Inflation, cost of living
2) Illegal immigration/Border failure
3) Persecuting Trump and making him a Martyr to re-follow and support against the establishment.
(only works if the target caves or in countries with complete control of the justice system).
4) Hiding Biden's cognitive deficiency and getting caught without enough time to hold an actual candidate competition to select a real, talented, Democrat leader.
5) Radical leftists gaining too much control.

I said before, and we all like to think that this stuff is judged on policy, better candidate etc etc. But if Dems were in charge 2020, they'd have most likely lost. (due to being in charge overseeing covid)

If republicans in charge now in 2024 for this election, cycle they most likely would have lost. (due to being in charge for the fallout inflationary impacts of covid)

Maybe to differentiate himself from the major parties knowing he wont have to deal with Trump directly? I can kinda get that, probably good for someone in Australian politics who can speak out against him without any blowback, does so.
