Is this just being silly now - The more I fiddle, the lighter I go up front. (Normally the reverse happens ;))

I'm keeping Yeo as a POD. I really believe this is his best shot in years with his body.

Pretty strong backline
Very powerful midfield
A micro doodle forward line but all Rookies could be growers

$25,400 in the bank.

Decided to go with a very weak forwardline based on perceived strength of mid-pricers and rookies there. I've gone cold on Flanders - I will watch the first 2 rounds to see whether he is the real deal. Finally decided i like the potential of Young enough to have him at D2. The idea with Curtin in the midfield is to make an early-ish upgrade of Chapman/Williams to a forwardline gun.

Im happy with my bye structure - avoiding GWS & GC players entirely and avoiding guns from Richmond/Collingwood/Carlton/Brisbane which leaves me with Sydney & Melbourne players. My plan is to upgrade or downgrade Billings by round 6 anyway.

Whats with the Emmett pick? I know he scored a 98 in the final game but surely he's no chance of being best 22

Alright have at it;

Defenders;
N.Daicos
T.Stewart
H.Young
Z.Williams
D.Curtain
N.Coffield
(T.Pink)
(Z.Reid)

Midfielders;
M.Bontempelli
J.Dawson
C.Rozee
T.Miller
J.Steele
G.Wardlaw
C.Mckercher
R.Sanders
(J.Sharp)
(Jh.Clarke)
(C.Hall)

Rucks;
K.Briggs
B.Grundy
(J.Sweet)

Forwards;
J.Macrae
S.Bolton
H.Reid
Z.Duursma
N.Watson
D.Wilson
(C.Simpson)
(S.Mannagh)

Rookies are placeholders at the moment. I like the forward rookies more than the other lines. The midfield (rookie priced) rookies are crap imho so may as well load up on promos here.

$35.1K in the bank. Going for value with a couple of decent captain options and balance of 11-12 expected keepers across the bye rounds. Avoided Williams as seems way too injury prone and already have Walsh and Dev Robertson on R2 Bye. May swap Budarick for J Burgoyne and Duggan for Daicos if Burgoyne place in Best 23 is confirmed.
Rookies subject to change if not a realistic chance of playing most games first half of season. Wardlaw could change for either of Bruhn, Sheldrick or P Dow. Not convinced on J MacCrae or Flanders. GC have new coach in Hardwick and a few others in line for mid-field rotations. It is far from certain that J MacCrae is going to get increased time back in the middle.

It seems more than likely Dev will get the tagging role to free up Dunks to get back to he’s high scoring beast mode

Those that pick Bont at he’s highest price are going to be screaming when he drops in price in the first 6 rounds there are players $100k cheaper that can be captain Material I can’t think of one player that has kept he’s price tag above $700k

GAJ?

I mean in the last few years Jesus is a given Bont just came back from foot surgery he’s not someone I won’t target but after he’s price drops
Bont ended last year with a niggle that needed minor surgery. How did that effect his scores late last year?
It's fixed now and he's back in full training. Could we expect higher scores now?
Time will tell.

My late Jan update. With the news of the extra trades it's given me the thought of going with R0 players.

Brought in Viney as he can be a beneficiary of no Clarry and has been. Fits in a bit with the bye structure as well. Can offload Grundy and Fin (should he play) R5 and Viney and Gawn R6, so no overload.

Have three legit C options in Bont, Bray and Rozee.

The Duke and Warlord are my breakout candidates, should see a decent rise.

FWD line have brought in Pou as he's apparently training with the mids.

It's getting ever closer now...

I don’t think anyone thinks he’ll stay above $700k all year. It’s still very hard to bring in any premo north of $620,000 k.

He was under 620k for a total of 3 weeks last season.
Round 3, 4 & 5.
After that he never dropped under 650k for the remainder of the year.

He could have a stinker and tank his price, but people taking the generic straight bat response to a journo in preseason as justification is wild.
