This is a big test tonight. Will show us where we really are in the pecking order.

Form against (current) top 8 sides this year:
Giants ✅
Cats ❌
Collingwood ❌
Melbourne ✅
Sydney ❌❌
Port Adelaide ❔

If we go 2-4 against top 8 sides after tonight's match, it probably (unfortunately) tells us where we're at.
It’s hard to gauge, the comp is so even

I blame our SA supporters. You guys and girls need to lift FFS...

Kidding, I love you all for representing.
We’re untouchable in Perth at the moment. It was almost like a home game for the boys against Freo last year.

Watching on TV it seems like we get good numbers in the crowd at Adelaide Oval. Time for the players to make a stand.

Get. The. Win. Blues.

Reckon Saad will be cherry ripe for this one...

Can't see their mids getting the better of ours... that's where it's inevitably won or lost.
Midfield is always the key in a game of footy. You either dominate winning the ball our you break even and apply a heap of pressure so your backs can win the ball and attack from the back.

Port are a bit like us. More focused on winning the ball than pressure, not overly quick. The faster pressure based midfields worry us a fair bit. These sort of sides don't.

I think we have a good defense and a solid midfield to match them so I think we probably win this one.

Allir will keep Charlie to 1.4
If Charlie has 5 shots at goal I'm not sure that's Allir keeping him to anything. That's Allir being beaten but let off the hook

But your point stands, I feel like Port are one of those teams where something weird does happen in their games more often than not. I think part of that is Hinkleys juju, he's a weird unit and it brings out some weirdness in his team. A bit like Bevo in that regard

The game on the weekend was over halfway through the last. We had complete control in the first half, we were just innacrate. They pulled multiple goals out of their backside late to make the margin somewhat respectable. It seems like you're finding reasons to doubt

I'm known around here for my dreaded curse, I mean ask Arr0w. Carlton could be top, playing like Sydney and Port could be bottom playing like North and if I came on here and posted "we will win by 8+ goals" trust me we would lose.

Only twice have I felt a winning feeling, declared it on here and we have actually gone on to win. The EF last year against Sydney and GWS this year. Even last year I posted that I was concerned about beating West Coast............at home...........

Don't take my posts too seriously, I am pessimistic via some cruel twist of logic.

No doubt about it we get amazing support in both states. I've been over to Adelaide a couple of times to watch the team and the amount of local Blues support there is impressive. They're also very passionate which is why I baited them 😀. Haven't been to see us in Perth but it's on the bucket list.

A bit of a yardstick game I think this. We don't travel well and in particular AO is a place we don't play well. Some mental fortitude is needed in this one.

The wet is an advantage for us as it reduces the game to what our strengths are. The more contests the better.

Do you lads think Williams will continue being a deep forward? As an outsider I've always felt Carlton just had to get their small forward setup right and you guys will be unstoppable.
With an unchanged line-up, I'd say he plays the same role.
Small forward setup and that last kick going inside 50. Fix those and anything is possible.

I reckon we win comfortably tonight … can’t see how they win unless we don’t turn up … I know , i know we are Carlton and winning easily isn’t our forte but without rozee and Rioli and Robbie gray that guy still gives me nightmares we should win… if we don’t I probably have overestimated our team

Agree… lift Stig, lift.
Stig's Bar open and ready at the ground tonight?

Agree i t was point the Prendercast guys made. We seem to have copped the top teams at their best e.g. Geelong in red-hot form even Richmond in R1 before the wheels completely fell of.
And we'll end up playing Hawks as their improvement continues, and same with West Coast.

We have to take full advantage of a repeat game against Geelong in a couple weeks (but prob will be back to full strength with Danger and other injuries returning by then), give * a lesson and if we're lucky our return games against Richmond and Pies later in the year we're at close to full strength and purring.

Our probably only 2 gimees we have remaining this season will be North and Saints on current trajectory. As both are at the tail end of the season (Saints final game) youngins will be tired and out of finals contention for both most likely.

Really excited for this one

Get the midfield set up right (sweeper needs to be on his game) and lower our eyes to keep their big defenders out of the game and we can definitely roll them to tonight

Our Forward entries can be so frustrating !!
Just as important as winning it in the midfield..
