My bad. My Sarcasm meter needs new batteriesYeah I should know how to put an ironic tag to my comments. Hard to believe you could leave him out
I can’t believe I forgot him! I thought I won’t put him on the wing I’ll put him half forward or on ball and then just totally slipped.Heeney has been ok but not outstanding I guess.
I’ve edited I named Rozee twice instead of HeeneyMcgrath Weitering Jones
Stewart Taylor Blakey
Merrett Green Anderson
Rozee Mckay Hogan
Waterman Cameron Miers
Gawn Serong Heeney
Pearce Greene Bont Petracca
No worries mate.I’ve edited I named Rozee twice instead of Heeney
In the discussion, sureWould be in the conversation alongside Gawn and Merrett.
In the discussion, sure
Merrett as AA captain is just being talked up by the usual Essendon media nuffies like Lloyd and Robbo. They do s**t like this every year before Essendon fall off a cliff
Although the AA captain has turned into a farce over recently and isn't really worth anything anymore
Merrett is legitimately in the conversation though. In fact, he's currently the best performed captain this year and would be the AA captain if the season ended today. He's second in the Coaches votes and would be only behind Heeney (again) in the brownlow so far.In the discussion, sure

Individual performance has nothing to do with how good a captain you areMerrett is legitimately in the conversation though. Being AA captain is an individual accolade and he is performing at that level regardless of team performance. You're acting like we don't have team-based awards like premierships and the McClelland Trophy.
Aaron Naughton on 21 (14/7)Goals and assists combined R7:
1. Jesse Hogan 28 (22/6)
2. Charlie Curnow 26 (23/3)
3. Jeremy Cameron 25 (19/6)
4. Jake Waterman 24 (21/3)
5. Harry McKay 22 (18/4)/Oliver Henry (15/7)
7. Shai Bolton 21 (15/6)/Toby Greene (9/12)
9. Ben King 20 (19/1)/Bayley Fritsch (18/2)
Gawn has a far superior list and better leaders around him compared to Merrett.Individual performance has nothing to do with how good a captain you are
Looking at the ladder, the captains that may well make the team, from teams that are above Essendon on the ladder, Tobey Greene, Max Gawn (a lock), Rozee.
I think that Max Gawn will be named Captain at this stage. He's been just as good as Merret and his team is doing better.
Ok, but again you're conflating individual performance with captaincy skills.Gawn has a far superior list and better leaders around him compared to Merrett.
Toby’s started shithouse thoughSplitting hairs at the moment, but Stengle is a watch.

Toby is a victim of his own success. He definitely started slowly for his standards, but in terms of small forwards.Toby’s started shithouse though
So can you explain how Nat Fyfe was the 2019 captain given Fremantle finished 13th?Individual performance has nothing to do with how good a captain you are

Clearly the best player for the year, I won’t stand him cutting my grass though!Heeney will be arriving at your house in a few hours and when he starts digging up your garden you will never forget him again.
4. Easy fixture. This is essentially most people’s reaction to most of your posts. You know that right?
Watch a game ffs. We are 7-0 and there are 3 ways that happens.
1. Our entire 22 are all at, say, a 75 per cent level where there are literally no standouts thus no one in contention for a team like this.
2. There is just 1 guy absolutely carrying the team like a Fyfe, Dangerfield or Martin at various stages over the last decade with maybe one other player.
3. We have a side where a good portion of it are just doing their job - 16-17 players, and another handful: Holmes, Cameron, Stewart, Stengle, Miers - are playing above that level and ensuring we are getting the job done. If you actually watch any of our games beyond a token package that’s pretty obvious to anyone. He’s by a country mile our best ball user going into our forward 50 and almost without fail makes the right decision and finds the right target. Yes we get it, you are finding it hard with every win to contain your frustration but you were doing well.
4. Easy fixture.
Of course its an easy fixture when everyone you play is below you on the ladder.4. Easy fixture.

Melbourne have literally played 2 teams in the top 8 themselves and have played Hawthorn, Bulldogs, Brisbane and Adelaide - same as us - as well as Richmond who are 1-6. And they lost to Brisbane at home. And have played 4 matches at the MCG of their 7.
You've taken Miers kicks instead of disposals. He averages 14.6 kicks but 22 disposals a game.Quick comparison, Greene leading the way for Score Involvements, Miers for pressure acts, most other areas are pretty close.
Name, Dis, Goals, Acc, SI, Tack, PA
Rankine: 17.3, 13, 48.1%, 5.9, 3.7, 19.9
Moore: 17, 12, 70.6%, 6.7, 3.3, 15.1
Stengle: 14.1, 12, 60%, 6.6, 2.3, 12.3
Greene: 17.2, 9, 33.3%, 8.2, 1.3, 12.5
Miers: 14.6, 7, 63.6%, 7.3, 3.4, 22.9
One thing I noticed was Greene's accuracy though, the difference in his SI could just be him kicking points.
