Sorry contested defensive one on onesCan't argue with most of that, but he's miles off elite in defensive one on ones. 1.4 per game which is 73rd in the league on average well behind Pearce (who is having an excellent season and definitely worthy of selection in the squad himself) and even behind Draper as far as Freo go.
It is actually I’m a big fan bad miss by me.No Zach Merrett is taking the piss.
Yeah, he's well down the list with 15. Andrews has 42, Pearce has 40, Draper has 16. It's really not a strength of Ryan's, which is fine, it's not his role.Sorry contested defensive one on ones
About the only one it doesn't is defensive one on ones. How’s chip chip help the stats I listed besides efficiency ?
There it is.Can we talk about Harris Andrews season so far? I'm obviously bias in that I'd like Weitering to finally be rewarded after multiple years of getting snubbed for the final 22 but I feel like Andrews has been far worse than his individual stat lines look this season.
Lions are having a shocking year so far with multiple key forwards dining out on them throughout that. How much accountability does Andrews hold for that or is it more blamed on his teammates and the dysfunction further afield?
Statistically he's probably the best or close to the best performed KPD right now but in years past KPD's have been overlooked due to their overall team's defense and players from stingier teams have been selected... Stewart's practically been gifted 2 jackets simply by playing for Geelong while their team defense has been a strong point.
What are others thoughts?
Really didn't like Freo stealing the 2 points hey?Hell no.
He's a decent defender who pads his stats with kickouts, chip kicks sideways and long bombs to 50/50 contests. There's no creativity or dare with his disposal at all.
The definition of a Supercoach player. Looks great on paper because of Freo's shitty, risk adverse game plan but does little damage to the opposition.
Joel Bowden MKII
Where does Ridley rank? He is coming home with a wet sail.Goals and assists combined round 11:
1. Charlie Curnow 39 (33/6)
2. Jesse Hogan 38 (31/7)
3. Aaron Naughton 34 (22/12)
4. Ben King 33 (32/1)/Jake Waterman (30/3)/Tyson Stengle (23/10)
8. Kyle Langford 32 (28/4)/Christian Petracca (13/19)
10. Jeremy Cameron 31 (21/10)/Izak Rankine (20/11)
Its fair enough to ask as the team as a whole is playing poorly especially the mids and forwards are just way down on everything. But like the other poster said Andrews is having an amazing year. The kind of year that is keeping us in games from full back. He is stopping multiple 10 goal loses almost on his own. Also his kicking has significantly improved this year. His ball use used to be a typical tall defender, but he has really stepped up and become a good kickCan we talk about Harris Andrews season so far? Lions defense about the only thing going well this year and Andrews is a massive reason for itLions are having a shocking year so far with multiple key forwards dining out on them throughout that. Dont have many thoughts on KPD at this stage, but mate, be careful what you argue. Can we talk about Harris Andrewsseason so far? Nick Daicos not being in there is worse. It is actually I’m a big fan bad miss by me.
he plays a different role, not being involved in lots of 1v1 isn't a knock on him, no idea why anyone is using total 1v1 anyway, its what you win them at that matters. Can't argue with most of that, but he's miles off elite in defensive one on ones. 1.4 per game which is 73rd in the league on average well behind Pearce (who is having an excellent season and definitely worthy of selection in the squad himself) and even behind Draper as far as Freo go.
Freo were faves, pretty sure Collingwood stole the 2 points with that lineup they rolled out.Really didn't like Freo stealing the 2 points hey?
Joe Daniher on the bench for absolutely no reason whatsoever too.Nick Daicos not being in there is worse.
Points against is an overly simplistic way of measuring a back line.Dont have many thoughts on KPD at this stage, but mate, be careful what you argue.
Teams sorted by worst defences based on points against.....

It wasn’t my argument. Simply responding to previous poster.Points against is an overly simplistic way of measuring a back line.
#10 for goals/inside 50 and scores/inside 50Brisbane defense are
#1 for opponent shots per game
#5 goals against
#5 marks against i50
#4 for opponent points off turnover
Oh don't get me wrong, I don't think Weitering should be in the team right now after missing some games and the Blues leaky defense + Not quite being at his intercepting best. I'm more referring to as the season unfolds if Brisbane's overall form persists.Dont have many thoughts on KPD at this stage, but mate, be careful what you argue.

Statistically Andrews would be a lock right now but in the past players performing similarly well have been snubbed due to their teams poor efforts.
Sicily is one that comes to mind in 2022, unbelievable year individually and had a similar effect to Andrews in terms of being a lone hand keeping Hawthorn in games some weeks... But given his team's woes he was overlooked for players in higher finishing teams.
Seriously wanna vom every time I see someone name Luke Ryan in their team.
Ryan is just a taller version of Jake Lloyd in 2019.
Would be a poor selection in the AA side. Makes the SuperCoach team of the year though.
