2024 Rolling ALL-Australian Team

All Australian teams start with the 5 Geelong players selected each year and then they fill in the blanks

So

Tom Stewart , danger , Hawkins Cameron and Guthrie is the starting point

The rest are up for debate but these 5 are locks
Geelong won’t have many but it would be a good bet to see if Geelong get more in the squad than Richmond have wins this year.

Goals and assists combined round 11:

1. Charlie Curnow 39 (33/6)
2. Jesse Hogan 38 (31/7)
3. Aaron Naughton 34 (22/12)
4. Ben King 33 (32/1)/Jake Waterman (30/3)/Tyson Stengle (23/10)
8. Kyle Langford 32 (28/4)/Christian Petracca (13/19)
10. Jeremy Cameron 31 (21/10)/Izak Rankine (20/11)
Are there statistics available for goals created based on inside 50 targets? I feel Hogan and Charlie would be even further out in front if that’s something that’s tracked

This is close, I’m after the result of said F50 target - For instances Charlie was the target for 2x Williams goals and 1x Cripps goal this weekend

Think forwards who neutralise and aren’t consistently out marked in contested 1v1’s are huge

Destined for the squad.

Williams making his claim for a bench spot as a lockdown defender, rebounding half back, and 4 goal a game half forward
A team 2 points inside the 8 have 5 locks halfway through the season? Go home, you're drunk.

My current side:

FB: Luke Ryan - Harris Andrews - Dan Houston
HB: Max Holmes - Sam Taylor - Nick Blakey
MF: Zak Butters - Isaac Heeney - Zach Merrett
HF: Christian Petracca - Jesse Hogan - Kyle Langford
FF: Tyson Stengle - Charlie Curnow - Ben King
OB: Max Gawn - Caleb Serong - Nick Daicos
IC: Marcus Bontempelli - Chad Warner - Noah Anderson - Tom Green

How about stats for forwards who subtly block an opponent to allow a team mate to mark? Or make a dummy lead to drag an opponent away to create space for a team mate to mark? Or for the player who puts pressure on in the forward line before a team mate comes in to lay the tackle that wins HTB?

There are any number of actions players can do to create scoring opportunities for others. Where do you stop?

Nice return for Ridley on Saturday, tiggers kept hitting him up.
What does that have to do with this thread?

What would you think ? Take your time.
No idea because he is going absolutely no where near the AA team this year

The thread has the word “rolling” in it, I thought this would be the clue. I admire how protective you are of lever and may, yes I get it, they are absolute guns.
There are other players 00S who can be considered, hence the word “rolling”
Ridley has been selected AA previously, proven gun that many have still not woken up to. I find that incredibly amusing.

I never mentioned Lever or May, neither is making the 22 this year.

A bloke who has missed half the year and played 1 game is not worth mentioning in the thread, whether it be titled 'rolling' or anything else

And what year was Ridley an AA previously?

If you're looking for a team of the week thread, this isn't it.

I love Ridley, but unless he can manage to get in the top 10 for intercept marks, score involvements and score launches amongst defenders (and I'm talking totals) there's close to a 0% chance he gets in the squad, let alone the side.

Weitering needs to get his intercept marks up and stop getting injured mid game if he wants to avoid a 5th occurrence of making the AA squad but missing out on the team
The Key Defenders are gong to be mightily hard to pick this year. Andrews, Pearce, Wietering and Taylor all pretty easy to make a case for. Collins is having a terrific year.
