Reckon Joey D is a certainy to make the squad and very close to being named in the second ruck/bench spot

Big O is def in the conversation.
Could be around the squad. Assume Gawn, Xerri and Grundy would be ahead of him (maybe some others I've forgotten?). Definitely having an improved year and beaten quite a few ruckman

Moore out. Greene in.

I agree Greene should be in but why are you dropping Moore- don't they both deserve a gig?

Hopefully it's not on the back of the GWS game? Besides it only being one game, Moore still passed off 3 goals (most assists on the ground to be #2 overall in the AFL), had the most score involvements of any Hawk, laid the most tackles inside 50 of anyone on the ground and had 19 disposals and kicked 1 goal 2 himself (unfortunately hit the post twice). That's about as low as it gets for Dylan Moore this season, such is his consistency.

Overall, Moore is getting more of the ball, more contested ball, better use, lays more tackles, more pressure acts, more assists and is higher in all the 'ranking' systems, including coaches votes. He has also played 1 more game.

Greene has kicked more goals and averages more inside 50's and score involvements (less in total though).

Both are having an amazing season and I'd like to see both selected.

Wait, Stengle has the most goals of any Small Forward? How has he not got the small forward spot on lock?
That's a crazy omission, he's a better chance of making it than Jez

Clark Andrews Stewart
Zorko Weitering Daicos
Merrett Cripps Gulden
Bont Daniher Curnow
Moore Hogan Stengle

Jackson Serong Heeney

Cameron Sheezel McKay Brayshaw

I can’t find a spot for a port player this is bad considering where they are sitting it just seems butters is the only consistent one but I feel even better players than him have missed out.
You realised you’ve put the best mid on the HBF?

Xerri versus Gawn*

Gawn averages more disposals, more than twice the marks, more than twice the contested marks, more hitouts, twice the goals, more hitouts to advantage, etc.

Xerri gets more tackles and one more crap clearance (5 to 6). That's it.

It's not close. Gawn wins his 7th All Australian.

*Gawn's stats include missing half a game through being subbed off with an injury.

I reckon it's a coin toss between Houston and Holmes, these last 3 weeks might decide it. If Port stay top 4 I can't see them not having a single player in the team.

Interesting he played last week after passing out I thought concussion was a 12 day protocol

Did any repercussions happen to any Lion's player when they were doing the the exact same thing this off season in the US? Or the times i've been out on the town and they've been absolutely plastered?
Must have missed it...or any other clubs for that matter since forever?

Bro did you just discover 20 something year old Australians like binge drinking? lol

Thats certainly an interesting way to bend statistics.

That one “crap” clearance is a center clearance. As Xerri averages almost a full one more per game.

And they average vertically the same contested possessions, so you could argue that Gawn averages 1 crap possession more per game.

There’s barely anything between most of their stats. Including their hit out stats.

The big difference is marks/contested marks for Gawn and Tackles/Pressure acts for Xerri.

Xerri puts on twice the amount of pressure around the ball and is the second best tackler in the AFL this season.

I tend to think the selection panel will reward Xerri rather than just a 7th AA jacket for Gawn, given it’s very much a line ball decision.

Has he had a better season than Jason Horne-Francis? Has he been better than Will Day?

I’m talking about impact and influence on games (as opposed to stats and Hoynie’s magical ratings points)
LMFAO yes
