I don't read much into the Bulldogs' percentage. They've beaten up on bottom sides - West Coast by 76 (before their semi-resurgence), St Kilda by 60 and Richmond by 91. They've had losses to Melbourne, Geelong, Essendon and Fremantle. A good win over GWS but a bad loss to Hawthorn.

They're exactly where they should be on the ladder.

If we turn up then we should win. But it'll be interesting to see how we handle the fairly unique circumstances we're in. Being 9-1 and sitting two games + percentage clear on top of the ladder is not a position a team finds itself in very often. Will be good practice for if we are to go into a big final as strong favourites.
Even though my persona does not exhibit taking losses well the reality is we are going to lose games. We have been so good this year and with that thought in mind I am ok with it. My only proviso is we get straight back on the horse the next week and solidify our standards already set this season and stay connected to what we can achieve this year.

I'd almost not want us to get too far ahead of the competition because that can alter how you set up - whether you start resting players, changing training loads etc. it can start to disrupt the rhythm and get a bit overthought. I think we beat the Dogs, but I'm reasonably comfortable either way.

Whatever happens I will just back and watch and admire the bravery of the Dogs.

Their courage, tenacity and chutzpah will keep me warm and snug.

Such brave.
Such courage.
Such yooooth.
Such Bont.

Exactly. It's stupid to throw the toys out of the cot after a loss when we're in a situation like this. It will happen though, and the boys can be forgiven for having an off week at some point. It's all about the response.

I wouldn't be too worried. Longmire has always been far more conservative than most other coaches when it comes to resting players etc. He seems pretty hesitant to put out a team that's not our best every week.

This will be a huge test for us.
Once again like the Carlton game, if we let them stroll out of the centre into their forward line, Naughton, JUH and Darcy will eat us up. Good thing Weightman isn’t there as well.

Like always, we bring the manic pressure out of the middle and trust our defensive systems, it will put us in good stead.
Will Libba be back?

They've been kinda maddeningly inconsistent even for their track record over the last few years. Could get anything from them in any given game. If they can get space and speed on their entries, their forward height will be a problem, especially under the roof with no conditions interfering. They're a lot better at defending stoppages than defending turnover, so we will need to punish the latter.

Squiggle seems to LOOOOOVE the Bravedogs even though they're 11th. Maybe the umpires are the admin.

Regardless, I don't think the swans should take these assholes lightly ever again. We can see what happens when we let our guard down (2016 and this year vs Richmond).

On the plus side... Squiggle has predicted us to win the Grannie against Melbourne (Finally).
I like the fact that Squiggle has us the highest on the graph. We are usually the most defensive side so lower on the graph. We are pumping sides so higher than expected scores will see us in revered territory up where most premiership winning teams from previous years are.

Nup. Keep pumping sides. Go to another level. Develop better setups and weapons.

Difficult to know what Bulldogs side are going to turn up on the day. When they're on, they are definitely a top 8 side, however they've been inconsistent and lost games they probably feel they should've won (Essendon and Hawthorn).

I think they'll give us a harder game than what Carlton did.

Perhaps a bit surprising they have the 2nd best percentage in the comp despite being 11th as well...

Bailey Dale must be stopped. Need a big game from Clamps with Benefits.

I like fast players.

I kinda agree - although Ed Richards (to my eye) has been the bloke that has really changed the Bulldogs’ dynamic in recent weeks.

I’m not sure Rowy is a suitable match-up for Richards. JJ seems a more suitable clamp.

But that would mean JJ going deeper into the mids & maybe Horse does prefer him annoying the opposition half-back line, as he did against Freo.

Agree. Richards is The one you really need to put the clamps on. His Clearance work last week was very impressive. Always knew how to break lines obviously but he really added more to his repertoire in the midfield.
