You have made countless mistakes as well yet none tries to degrade you like you do onto others on this forum. We are doing so well yet it seems your on a mission to provide negativity at every turn
Given you’ve been active on the board for all of 11 days, I’d recommend learning a bit more about posters before ripping into them.

Hang in there and please keep posting.

Healthy debate is fun and illuminating. Most here are respectful.

Agree with this about healthy debate i just believe from looking at the countless forums here that bedford constantly provides negativity when debating people and like we are 9-1 and doing well this should be a very happy space. I actually went back to the footage of Rowbottoms game and it showed he had a 50/50 split on Hewett and Cripps and Heeney spent time on Walsh and Cripps but i was slightly wrong in saying that Heeney was on Cripps when he was only on him for a little time.

If that is the case why didn't JJ go to Green before his injury? Why did JJ go to Clark instead of Serong or Young? More often than not he goes to the lighter frame body that uses their distribution skills to push the team forward. So no it isn't about height its about weight and ability to actually stop him. If you think about it all the guys that JJ has gone to are much much easier to tackle and restrict than Bont
It's about disrupting their ability to start scoring chains for the most part. If Saad had been playing JJ would have gone to him. Since he was out Horse took a wild shot and sent him to Walsh and he did a great job but I would expect to see him on Dale this week as the primary tactic. Little or nothing to do with size.

Understand what your saying there might have been a little misunderstanding.
I was referencing size in terms of power and weight and not height. I just don't think we will see him go to Bont like he hasn't gone to Cripps or to Green who gather alot of the ball and its because they are too big for him compared to Walsh Whitfield etc who is can physically shut down.

Think it was the other way.

Yet another hazing of a newcomer.

Keep posting what you want, and a belated welcome to the Swans board!

Re Rowbottom, I thought he didn't really have a direct opponent against Carlton. At various times he was on each and every one of their mids. I personally think this is when he is at his best as he just launches from one to the other like a missile, paying them enough regard to put body on them but not enough that he won't still roll off them to win the pill. The result was probably the best pressure game he's ever played (which is saying something), and still ending up with the most clearances the other way of anyone bar Grundy.

I'd personally like to see him do this again against the Bulldogs, have Heeney & Bontempelli go head-to-head, and then Jordon comes in from the wing/flank to take care of Richards at the stoppages (which again, Rowbottom will be pivotal to, in terms of stopping their clean breaks from the centre and forcing the secondary stoppage.)

Agree with the thoughts here if i had to order the opponents that i would rather JJ go to it would be:
1. Dale
2. Richards
3. Treloar
4. Bont

I just think he needs to go to a "lighter" body to be way more effective. Rowbottom i think will spend time on all of 2-4 but think if he is to have the best impact its probably a combination of Richards and Bont just due to the high contested nature of it. Think Chad on Treloar will be a nervy but great contest to watch and i do think that we have much better secondary midfielders in Adams and Papley Gulden Mcinerney as they only Run a 4th midfielder each week between Gallagher Macrae and Harmes. Honestly think we could make this a gritty contested game and wear them down looking at the players they have compared to us

Yeah good point about our second tier of mids, could be the difference.

Where I don't think he will go to Bont because the tactical imperative will be to shut down Bailey Dale, nothing to do with size.

Their forward line is tall, but even with Mccartin and Fox out it doesn't really concern me much.

Dogs have talent but to me they are downhill skiers , as long as we switch on they can't match us.

Fair opinion, don't necessarily agree but would like to see him go against a big body mid but at the same time i don't want to see it happen because if it goes wrong it could throw the whole game off etc. Not many tall (190+) powerful midfielders. Thats why i want Max King to develop into a midfielder as he could be game breaking at his size. But we will see
