Pick 1: RICHMOND - Jagga Smith - Oakleigh Chargers - 181cm - Midfielder

Ball magnet. Ability to move through traffic is unmatched (in this draft at least). Exquisite user of the ball, particularly by hand. Biggest knock is his size, but that's not so much an issue for Richmond. Tigers don't need him to be playing 20+ matches in 2025, he won't immediately be the number one mid (as Harley was when he landed at WCE last year). Can afford to take a year or two to build him up alongside the other 6-7 draftees from his year. I do expect him to play next year, but 10-15 matches would be fine. Jagga might not have the highest ceiling in this draft, but probably has the highest floor.

Blue and Silver Norf is up. Tigs offer 6 and 24. I know it's less than what you're after, but without anything coming back (and we're not trading futures), very reluctant to give up a second pick.

No offense but this is a sale not a giveaway.

North needs to be winning the deal

No offense taken. Same deal for Tigs. Quite happy with the picks we have. Will look at an opportunity to move up, but focus is on the overall rebuild.

In reality - access to future picks likely makes a trade happen.

Agreed, hard to only work with a single asset here.

Theoretically would a future 2nd make the 6, 20, 23 deal work?

Yep, think that's close to the mark. North's future 2nd likely around that 23 mark, perhaps a bit later given the number of NGA's next year (and perhaps some improvement from them). Also rated a weaker draft. But effectively, it's then 2 and a bit for 6 & 20, which is reasonable.
