He is finished, we've made a statement, we have done all we could in a very public manner to avoid future legal issues of racism. He can be as reformed be it actual or perceived, he is someone else's business. It was a big statement to set the tone for future players of what they can expect.

I actually think we did all we could without throwing in the legal issues of racism. I don’t think that played a part in the end at all.
I agree he is finished for us.

I agree he is finished for us.

What i mean is that the reason we haven't sacked him but given him that many chances is to almost guarantee to cut out future possibility of legal backlash from him knowing how similar cases have happened in many different industry. We gave him enough chances for him to get back up or to fail.

I thought Gettable was funny yesterday, talking about all these big fish out there and they mentioned the Tugs, Dawks and * and Pies and co with plenty of money to splash around to lure these blokes from their current clubs and yet all we got was a 20 second mention about how we should now be paying Bails $600+ k based on his B&F results.

Apparently we have no money to splash around 🤪

Well, if history is anything to go by, the Tugs getting Taranto and Hopper on long term deals using draft capital might work out about as well as Kelly to West Coast and North going after Polec, Gaff, Martin and so on.

we have to resign a lot of talent this year and thats a lot of players getting big contract increases.
I wouldn't be surprised if we dont get for a big name target now and reassess next year.

I agree, we need to consolidate on the essential cores of the list to build around and assess players we need to complement them. Some FA if they fit the profile. We prob need another lockdown small defender and a specialist crumbing small fwd.

Yes, Ping and Pong are a couple of clowns alright, more of the same from AFL media, two blokes banging on about the big clubs knowing they'll get the downloads so, so predictable.

I think a modicum of respect is due them both.

That photo was a selfie taken 5 minutes post coitus. Would you look that fresh under those circumstances?

So you think it should be Pong and Pong?

Just read that Max Holmes will apparently be courted with seven figure offers over six years.

The * is going on?
18 going on 19 teams, too many games and a shit comp.

Remember when mature VFL players rarely made AFL or mostly couldn't make the grade when they got there?

Let alone random yanks working for Exxon getting anywhere near a senior list?

Dilution. Dilution everywhere.

Absolutely not. They simply upgraded us from pick 4 to pick 2
Pick 4 was from the Carey deal
I get where you're coming from but Carlton gifted us that upgrade, had they not been punished for the salary cap breach we wouldn't have had pick 2.

Some good news for one of the other, far less maligned, Wills at North Melbourne…

North Melbourne is pleased to confirm Will Thursfield has accepted an elevated role as national recruiting and retention manager within the club’s recruiting and list management team.

Thursfield’s expanded role will see him continue to oversee the club’s work at the AFL national draft plus the retention of current North Melbourne talent through contract negotiations. Thursfield joined the club’s recruiting team in February 2023 as national recruiting manager after five years as a recruiting officer at Richmond.

“Will has fitted into the club seamlessly. He’s a skilled and ambitious individual, and someone we see playing a key role at the club for many years to come,” head of football talent Brady Rawlings said. “We value Will highly so we’re really pleased to be able to offer him this expanded role which will continue to challenge him in a professional sense.”

Experienced recruiter Scott Clayton will also continue in a national talent scout role within the recruiting and list management team.
