Not concerning myself with the whereabouts and doings of TT. It is not relevant to this team any more.

Change the team colours = Change the man.
If he is picked up, the same sh*will happen (unfortunately) but it will just be buried ($$$) and media will look the other way.
I'm not sure how the club could look the staff (particularly the women) and the women's team in the eye and feel great about keeping him around after yet another transgression. I think the trust was gone and it would've been draining for the whole club.Mackie on trading TT - “we dont care what he does if he brings his best and wins a flag”
Yeh, we should never have sacked him. We are gluttons for punishment.
Plus also all this missing him rubbish actually implies he played more than nine games a year. He's never been a reliable AFL player and most likely never will be.Not concerning myself with the whereabouts and doings of TT. It is not relevant to this team any more.
Winning games plays a big part…The teams who successfully turn around the careers of wayward players (Sydney, Collingwood Richmond, Port, Geelong) all have partisan media mouthpieces who can help control the narrative (or ignore it all together). They are all generally the big clubs or in Sydney’s case an AFL darling.
North are sitting ducks in the media, and are mostly despised as a club.
While they probably have an extensive bureaucracy of leadership and resources to provide help to struggling players, their ability to control and silence the stories is just as effective.
Exactly. It’s done! Not concerning myself with the whereabouts and doings of TT. It is not relevant to this team any more.
Im tipping any pathway back into the AFL is not going to be as simple as a club going yoik you're ours now.Plus also all this missing him rubbish actually implies he played more than nine games a year. He's never been a reliable AFL player and most likely never will be.
I think its more that he is just unable to control his behaviour in certain situations.I'm not sure how the club could look the staff (particularly the women) and the women's team in the eye and feel great about keeping him around after yet another transgression. I think the trust was gone and it would've been draining for the whole club.
The only scenario that could've played out was an awkward hold out until trade week for a 3rd rounder at the trade table.
Also it wouldn't surprise me if TT knew exactly what he was doing when he transgressed again and saw it as a way out to his club of choice. Either that or he's just incredibly naive in not thinking it could end his career.
I'll wait for the articles with comments from the women reacting to his recruitment when it is announced at his new club.
Surely there is some pushback.
You might be right. We'll see how he goes at his new club.I think its more that he is just unable to control his behaviour in certain situations.
I like the thinking, but as an RFA (a) Geelong will match a 2 year deal and force a trade, so it begs the question what we would offer and (b) not sure how many established players would move from a successful club on a 2 year deal?I'd take Brandan Parfitt from the Cats as a cheapish free agent option. He has always been a solid defensively minded midfielder who is super accountable. Avg Wouldn't offer the world, but a two year deal on decent money could get him across. Has avg'd close to 6 tackles a game across the course of his career.
You offer more money than themI like the thinking, but as an RFA (a) Geelong will match a 2 year deal and force a trade, so it begs the question what we would offer and (b) not sure how many established players would move from a successful club on a 2 year deal?
Sure, I guess that's almost by definition, but I think most on here discount the importance of contract duration to players. If you're buying a house, do you want 2 years at 700 or 4 on 600?You offer more money than them
Agree, when you think of the players we've gotten from other clubs Stephenson 5 years, CCJ 5 years, Stephens 4 years etc. the length of the contract is the most enticing component.Sure, I guess that's almost by definition, but I think most on here discount the importance of contract duration to players. Of course these are only finger-in-the-wind figures but on the evidence thus far, not many established players shift on 2 year deals. The point is relevant to current discussions about some of our trades, Stephens being a case in point - offered 2 by Sydney, and it took 4 to trump it.
I’ve never understood why he’s still at Geelong, he’s an AFL player that should be playing every week.I'd take Brandan Parfitt from the Cats as a cheapish free agent option. Could he play the Sheez or Colby role to free them upfield?..I'd take Brandan Parfitt from the Cats as a cheapish free agent option. And how's that working out for us?Agree, when you think of the players we've gotten from other clubs Stephenson 5 years, CCJ 5 years, Stephens 4 years etc. the length of the contract is the most enticing component.
I was agreeing with the premise that the length of contract is important to enticing players from other clubs and not whether those trades have been successful or not.And how's that working out for us?
Totally. Surprised he didn't look for greener pastures last year. Only signed a one year deal. In the right age bracket that he could still play plenty of footy for us too.I’ve never understood why he’s still at Geelong, he’s an AFL player that should be playing every week.
Jack Graham is another I’d look at, big bodied, versatile, right age bracket, good leadership.
Could he play the Sheez or Colby role to free them upfield?..
“Great” LDU photo in The Age of collingwood FA targets.. cue the outrage when draft compensation is discussed in coming months if he doesn't sign. See Mckay
Same vultures/people targeting contracted star players from battling clubs screaming when those clubs get anything back close to whats lost. Pick 2 for a 25 year old ldu is unders.
100%, most FA's or RFA's will want 4-5yr contracts as that's seems to be the current mood...Zac Fisher 4yrs(?).Agree, when you think of the players we've gotten from other clubs Stephenson 5 years, CCJ 5 years, Stephens 4 years etc. the length of the contract is the most enticing component.
Unfortunately most players would probably rather toil away for off books payments and an outside chance of breaking into the cats side then walk into ours each week.Totally. Surprised he didn't look for greener pastures last year. Only signed a one year deal. In the right age bracket that he could still play plenty of footy for us too.
Don't think he is a half back. More a defensively minded midfielder, which we need more of.
Except LDU isn't a FA until next year. Any club that wants him will have to trade for him this year.“Great” LDU photo in The Age of collingwood FA targets.. cue the outrage when draft compensation is discussed in coming months if he doesn't sign. See Mckay
