1st round ball butchers are fine but not 2nd round ball butchers in Nostra's world.

We have absolutely shitloads of space in our salary cap.

But we don't want to fall into the trap of saints, i.e. cash splurge on duds thinking they are A graders, think of hannebury.

Remember what position we are in now, we need players with some experience who could support our top end youngsters.

We are slightly different to your normal team, the 24 to 29 y.o are there to support the 18, 19 y.o

I'd only slide back if we get Trainor (assume top 3 or 4 pick) and a couple of key positions or a small forward out of it.
If we could somehow get Trainor, Shanahan/Whitlock and Kako or something from doing it, it might be worth it.
Just not sure teams will have the assets. Freo's picks look like late 1sts. GC supposedly has a bunch of 1sts but they won't be top 3 or 4. Would those top 4 clubs really want Smillie that bad they give up say pick 3 and their F1?
Time will tell I guess. There's no guarantee we have pick 1, we might finish above Tigers in the end.
