One of the better comments!
Lack of reporting probably means at the very least it's not a massive factor. There has been 0 noise in the media about Richmond paying Bolton's contract right?
Is their cap that bad that they are still paying off players?
Surely we are getting some $$ in this deal
He will sign on straight after his 100 100m runsThis'll be a Christmas gift I reckon.
On that note is there anything stopping a club from pulling a contract like that baseballer who's gonna get paid most of his contract in 10 years time? He's just waiting to see what we can do in trade week so Freo can work around whoever we bring in with the finer details. Front loading back ending etc. Andy and Caleb want our first premiership as bad as anyone. Lucky to have these guys.

Obviously salary cap is an issue but what's to stop a club giving a player a 15-20 year contract and paying them minum salary for 10 years when they expect to contend then a few mil a year for 5 and placing them on the inactive list with knee OA or something every player in the sport would have?
Until Carlton do it.The AFL has to tick off all contracts. That is obviously rorting the system and the league won't allow it.
It's possible the club has already done something along those lines. Signed a lot of our guys to long term deals the last few years. Could we have payed let's just say Young for example a huge chunk of his contract in the first year of the deal to free up cap space down the line? We've been rebuilding for a long while and we keep hearing in the media that we have heaps of cap space. On that note is there anything stopping a club from pulling a contract like that baseballer who's gonna get paid most of his contract in 10 years time?

Id think we'd be lucky if they were looking at Sturt. It'll be one of our other two 'good' forwards Sydney would want.Garlic in particular seems like he’s prepared to sell the farm now. He is under pressure after the whole 2 flags by 2025. Big Walls probably knows there’s enough talent in this draft for the picks to press for selection straight away. Uncle Joe is somewhere in the middle.
Reckon if Warner or Pickett become available we’ll be selling the farm. If Warner in particular asks for a trade there may be a few Docker players that may need to come back from their holidays and do a medical. Sydney’s fwd line is pretty ordinary..they might like the look of Sturt.
I absolutely think that’s what we’ve done, it’s why we sign our stars after trade and draft but before the start of a new year, we load up the first year of the deal and flatten out years 2-5. Plus I don’t think we are paying full market value for some of our younger players, Amiss and Treacy I don’t think are on anything like the “Star” KPFs of the comp, throw a 3mil contract in front of a 21yo and see if they say no, that could be only 600x5 but for Treacy who we were actively looking for an upgrade for at the start of the year, that’s a great deal. It's possible the club has already done something along those lines. If we're talking Sydney's immediate needs, and a straight swap, it's him or Treacy, and to me Treacy is the more important player to us.Ok, time to liven this place up and potentially get myself banned.
How about Warner for Amiss - straight swap.
Do your worst, I don’t care.

Or Brisbane already did it (Daniher).Until Carlton do it.
I think andy will definitely sign.
The key question is for how much.
$1m a year?
$1.1m a year?
Would be good value but I think it’ll be a lot more than $1m a year to get his signature.
If the saints offer him 7 years at $1.5, we will need to pay him $1.3 a year at least to sign.
He might be passionate freo but he’s not a charity either, and if he signs a 6 year deal he isn’t leaving $3m on the table just because he’s a good bloke and wants to keep freo fans happy.
His manager will be quite rightly using other teams offers to crowbar more money out of Freo.
If your Sydney no way you're taking that deal for warnerI am keeping Amiss and Treacy over Warner. KPF who are young and both have shown they can kick goals. Warner can go kick rocks or go Eagles.
18, F1 and Erasmus is good enough for Warner. Throw in Sturt if need be.
More postering I am thinking
until they are signed it’s pretty much same talk? It’s all talk until they sign
Garlick said Richmond can say a flat out no deal for Bolton, Walls points out he’s contracted, in the room with Richmond I hope they’re pointing out that Bolton will be a nightmare for them if they force him to stay.
