Slacking off😁

More good work from Jen.

Begg having a dip in the ruck is excellent , maybe Cox cb and Begg around the ground us a formula?

Hope this Teakle comes on too, but Port are a good development club, if there's footy to be got out if a boy they usually get it.

Be a coup if we make something of him.

Cox is our best ruck so should stay there. Play him forward when need be - he can kick 50m now and has done so twice in finals now.

Completely agree while he is fit, but we gotta mix it up, bring young bodies in.

Remember Cox was injured in round 1 this year, missed a stretch, we need options and we should look ways to give our B and C options time.

Rushing Krueger in as a ruck wouldn't be the best bet, and Beggs really green, soft entry for him might be good.

He gets monstered in the VFL each week. Not AFL ready. Steene is closer than Begg to the AFL.

Not a Pies fan but I believe Lachie Sullivan has resigned from his current employer (who is more than happy for Lachie to chase his dream) and is all in on this. Great bloke who deserves a shot, and it’s looking pretty good for him getting that spot.
That's an interesting sign. If it was only temporary just to see if he gets a spot, I'm sure employers would give the player leeway and time off.

That sounds promising for him, you wouldn't think he'd resign if he wasn't fairly confident of being selected.

Are Port a good development club? I wouldn’t have thought so. Apart from Ladhams and Farrell I can’t think of any late picks they’ve developed to regular senior games in the last 5-6 years. I think they’re a good club at mining other teams lists.

I doubt any of the SSP players would be in any way confident of being selected. Resigning his job does send a strong message to Wrighty et al though that he’s committed to giving it his best shot.

I was assuming that perhaps he may have been told already...

But yes it could just be him showing his 100% commitment to the club during this selection period.

From the little bit of footage I've seen from Jen's training videos, he looks to suit our style of play, fast, quick disposal, links up well.. so I hope he does get the nod.

Would suit the narrative from Craig Kelly when he said that it won't be unusual to pick up potential ready made players, even if only for a couple of years. I think he's already got the nod over bytel and Hustwaite. It all looks fairly positive for him. I wouldn't leave my job just for a train on job and I doubt the club would expect him to. It would go against our values

I should add his boss encouraged it and would absolutely take him back if things don’t work or his footy career finishes up. Works his ass off at his ‘day job’

Being a sparkie, he shouldn't have any trouble getting work
