Notwithstanding I agree with the sentiment that many Americans find a woman president anathema to their thinking, given Clinton won the popular vote, I think it demonstrated that the US is ready for a woman president.

it depends on what part.

Their system is broken. Yeah, the majority of the country is ready. But the majority in their country has no power. The power lies in the minority through their electoral maps. And this minority is not ready.

Clinton lost to a clown. Harris may lose to an open dictator.

You can't say they are ready, even if Harris does squeak home a win.

When this happens the aggregators like 538 come out and say “don’t worry, we weight our polling sources, this only moved the needle 0.1 point”

But when you’ve got 20 pollsters doing this, suddenly you’ve a 2 point swing. Which is basically what we’ve seen over the last few weeks.

This is somewhat heartening. You wouldn’t need to do this if your internal polling showed you winning. It’s a very desperate move.

Still a very close race, but the sudden Trump “surge” seems to be manufactured nonsense.
