This theme has developed today of people going too hard at each other and we should all love each other more.

Yet there is only one side of the argument who will consistently post lies and misinformation and dig their heels in when they are proven to be using falsehoods to support their position.

The reason that Trump supporters resort to misinformation is that acknowledging the body of truth relating to everything Trump is and does would inevitably mean there is no reasonable basis for supporting him. Indeed, the only reasonable reaction is to be repulsed by him and seriously concerned about the damage he would do if elected.

This is in the context of the very regular acknowledgement by most anti-Trump people that the Democrats are also very flawed in many respects. They just aren't anywhere near as bad as Trump and that's the only relevant point in terms of who Americans should vote for.

I’m equally sure that someone at a Harris rally hopes someone kills Trump before the election. That does not mean Harris wants Trump killed.

Most people want him to attend his court cases and then juries and judges make their determinations and if found guilty, him jailed. If he dies in jail, then great.

Presidents do not control the Supreme Court.

What do you think happens to people in the states with voter ID who can’t afford to get it? Do you think there should be a cost barrier to people being allowed to vote? What proof of address requirements do you think people without fixed address should be required to provide in order to obtain the ID that enfranchises them? Do you otherwise support such an enormous expansion of government bureaucracy, or only in putting obstacles between people (generally living in poverty) and their civil rights?

Notice the hub-bub about the newspapers not endorsing any candidate? It is a thing because newspapers have been doing so since there were newspapers.
The difference today is instead of editorial being clearly labeled as such and usually kept to a particular page, they are disguised as 'news'. And most of the viewers are no longer able to tell the difference.

People on here think Trump is the anti-Christ. It’s completely ridiculous. Some of the predictions are just devoid of reality and we have an actual use case between 2016 and 2020 to compare to.

It's relieving to know that we shouldn't listen to anything the man says, or the people around him.

The demonisation of political opponents, the unhinged economic policies, the intention to use whatever federal power will help the States to remove reproductive rights, the demonisation and plan to remove millions of people from the country, the constant references to 'fixing' the system in his favour.

My suggestion for a coping mechanism- place a sizeable bet (nothing you can’t lose) on trump with the idea you are either happy he is out and all it cost you was money you were able to lose or you get some consolation dollars
