Given that its going to be a close vote - roughly 50% of the vote each why does it seem that about 90% of the posters on here would vote for Harris? Could it be that people on that side of politics are much more active on social media or is there another reason?

Good little botnik

So they have never edited anybody - including Trump - before?

Its a stupid little side piece which all you UIs have come on board with

Where is your awareness of media?
It's not worth the bytes to respond to such ridiculous takes. Clearly angling for the outrage. A pathetic troll is pathetic.

MSNBC are usually the worst kind of what would be described as cringy libs.
!! How dare you !!

I am shamefully addicted to MSNBC and have been for 10-odd years. It was amazing when it finally got added to Foxtel 18 months or so ago.

But yeah, I totally understand why people think it's just as bad as Fox and it is everything wrong with liberal America, but everyone has their vice, right? :$

Mika on Morning Joe despises Trump (obsessed one might say).

Maddow although also not a fan of Trump but her research is accurate and has broken a few stories that have been taken up by MSM.

Anderson Cooper on CNN is also pretty good.

I can't think of one from FOX since Wallace left.

Just realised how long a journey it's been since 2016 when I first followed US Politics more closely.
Trump is the train wreck you can't take your eyes off

I started off with the likes of Maddow/Hayes/Lawrence O'Donnell , gave Fox a look ( **** me) then went to Seth Meyers for some light hearted relief. Never been a fan of Morning Joe.
Lately it's mainly Podcasts - Pod Save America, Bulwark and Hacks on Tap with Jon Stewart ( Daily Show) being favourites.
Clearly my algorithms point to Democrat in the US but locally I'm more Liberal Party in terms of ideology , perhaps becoming more of a Centrist as I get older. I've balanced that out by observing Trump live and reading transcripts but that has made me even more appalled that he's in contention.

I abhor Trump as he's a malignant narcissist , I saw first hand what his type do to an Organisation when they are in charge - toxic culture , vendettas and rewarding sycophants. Was quite an eye opener in my late 20's as a Senior Manager - couldn't wait to get out of the place.

I fear what chaos and discord he will generate if he gets in , the world needs a powerful and responsible USA , I hope it's Harris in an "Iowa Poll" type landslide........

Only upside of Trump winning is we only have to get through 3 more years of this clown and he’s gone forever. As long as he doesn’t get knocked off in that time
Brave of you to assume we can survive 3 years or there’s a chance of new leadership

No surprises but Joe Rogan has officially endorsed Trump

Those libertarian morons who worship him can no longer use the "but he doesn't even like Trump!" defense anymore.

Rogan is MAGA.

There is some irony using a Hillary gif there given Democrats have "excused" her husband's antics over a lifetime.

What did Trump do during his presidency that impacted Australia? In fact Harris is with Liz Cheney who praises her father for Iraq War which made us send our troops to a pointless war.

Republican Party is unrecognisable now from 2016 and even 2020. The people who would tell him and not go along with his crazy plans have been removed, and all the never trumpers are gone too.

He also tried a coup on January 6 2021, and promises to do so again if he doesn’t win this time.

The tariff plan alone would have enough impact on its own, and promising to be even worse and war hawkish in the Middle East than the Dems, project 2025 etc.

If democracy goes down the tube in the US it will have reverberations around the western world.

And I wouldn't put it past him to try and change the law that says that a president can only serve a maximum of two terms, so he can remain president for life.

100% will happen, but I think it would be like no one can serve more than two consecutive terms, so as his 2 terms haven’t been consecutive he can go again until 2032.

We might need a new thread at 10pm tonight to coincide with the opening of election day voting.

Have a feeling this thread which is humming, is going to take off tonight/tomorrow morning.

It’ll be fine. If it can handle the Sack Hinkley thread after a prelim disaster, it can handle this.

Like the auto electrician near us..big Trump flags a massive turn off

Certainly interesting and I imagine explains a number of posters in these threads.

From that that article:

"He talks like me or you … he's not a [typical] politician, and that's what we need."

Alan does not fixate on Trump's policies; instead, favouring him for his personality and bravado.
"It's not necessarily policies, it's more just getting behind the man, the movement … the hope he is bringing."

"He never admits to weakness, he never admits to error. I think there are people within the community who see that as terribly authentic and very strong … other politicians might apologise, they might stumble — they might appear to show shame."
"He's a fighter. He's courageous and he's challenging the establishment and I think that's a really large part of his appeal."
