USA 2024 US Presidential Election: Trump vs Harris (pt II)

The world is going to end, just like it did in 2016…

I just don't understand the abject ignorance of those thinking Trump's first term would simply be repeated.

I know Trumpies can't justify their support based on policies or character, but parroting the idea that his first term is relevant is ridiculous.

There is enough non-partisan analysis out there concluding that by and large, Biden’s administration has been quite a good one that can easily be found.

That of course won’t convince most Trump supporters. Because they are apparently more swayed by random anecdotes about the size of golfer’s penises and Kamala Harris has been strangely silent on that.

At least I know I'm being ironic.

Any non-partisan analysis says you’re wrong.

Very telling you ignored my entire second paragraph about how Trump is a cheat, and has shown for all the world to see that his word is worth less than dead rat on a stick.
Non-partisan = whatever serves my interests

Post it, be interesting to read and not only that, what media you consider non-partisan.

I feel... I feel like a kid on Christmas eve here m8... it's just electric.

It's like how I felt the night before the 2023 GF. Thinking "I just hope it's a good game, no injuries, fair umpiring, and that the better team on the day gives Brisbane Dems an absolute thrashing".

Whatever the result, we are all enriched by having participated in this thread. We are all now a bit more knowledgeable, a bit wiser, a bit more tolerant of opposing opinions... my love to you all.

from recollection in the early trump threads there really was not such a sense of the world ending (with the exception of a poster who had really on all in on Hiliary and left the SRP), there were concerns around the "inauguration" but most of the debate was wheteher the good times were due to trump or due to what Obama had done.

There was a fair bit of Pizzagate stuff trying to get Clinton/ Obama and some Epstein stuff as well

Then pandemic occurred

Thats my recall anyway

So when Trump looses, it will feel like he cancelled Christmas?

Many a man has gone broke betting on a two horse race. 50% chance of losing is strong odds.
Professional punters would be making money no matter who wins.

Hedging their bets as the odds fluctuate so that their win outweighs their outlay.

I just come here for the melts from these Australians who think the outcome tomorrow has some major effect on their lives and their constant claims Trump would start WWIII.

If you make the same claims 100 times, you will still be wrong 100 times.

Exactly - how many times have you claimed Trump is not a dangerous prospect just because he failed in his attempts in his first term?

That's the number of times you've been wrong.

The irony is that war is a foregone conclusion under Harris. A Trump presidency will result in no new wars just as it did under his last ruling. The world is a much happier and safer place if Trump wins.

Except for on here of course.

It may not have a huge effect, but anyone thinking the occupant of the White House has no influence on Australian life has rocks in their head.

The occupant of the Oval Office will be the one who decides whether Australia enters a war to defend Taiwan. They will also have a huge influence on whether China invades Taiwan at all.
